It’s the only rhythm I don’t like 😂. Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode or Womanizer by Britney come to mind. I mean, it can be catchy but I feel like it makes the songs sound too retro or something I can’t explain.

sounds great when used right, since the 4th tap possibly still is there, its just used differently
like when doing a short break, skip 1 tap then 3 tap and continue the beat. brings a grooved transition to where it continues from silence

So that is what Kendrick Lamar is doing. 2014 i heard his mixtape and it was so rythmic. I Used to just say he was "swinging" on the beat like his voice was a percussion instrument. now i know he was throwing out triplets.
