Hey y’all, I have a honest question for everyone who shares Razor’s opinion; not trying to mock or troll but just genuinely curious.
I am an Italian guy who leans to the left and I often find baffling how Americans are opposed to marginal gun regulations (such as psychiatric evaluation, tracking and limitations as to how many fire weapons one is allowed to own); I am not saying the right to bear arms should be completely revoked, but I wonder if some more control could be helpful in keeping guns away from complete nutjobs, be they left or right wing.
Would someone like to give me their perspective? Keep in mind, I’m not trying to start a shit flinging contest and I am not American, so I’m rather just trying to understand more your point of view.

it's amazing how many times I've taken ultra liberals to a local range paid for the renting of the gun & ammo as well as showing them how to operate the firearm then after they've put about two boxes down range what's the first thing they want to do, aside from reimbursing me and admitting they had fun? I taught my son to shoot from age 5. He knows it's a tool, and it's to be respected. There is no mystery to it...there is no reason to sneak and "play" with it.

But me being a gun toting, retired military living in texas, it kind of fits the cliche.

personally I say it should be taut in school to respect guns and find responsibility in wielding them.
but I also think that it should be harder to get your hands on one, say you would need a licence to own a gun.

My son has been raised the same way. He's been shooting for over 15 years now with zero issues.

Hell, according to most statistics, violent crime has actually dropped as video game sales have risen. I'm not saying they're connected. It's probably just a coincidence, really. But if people want to try and use statistics then maybe that one should be brought up

When my dad and grandfather took me out back of my grandfather's house and told me to hit an old shovel leaning on a tree, the first thing that went through my mind was, "Wow. It's a lot heavier than I thought it would be" followed by a slight bit of nervousness. Because I knew what I was holding and what could happen if I messed up. But I was taught to respect it first. Then I was showed how to use it. I was a nerd who was bullied like crazy in school but here I am over a decade later and never shot anyone.
