Ответить1. Acquire the best of the best, state of the art imagery [...] that the space shuttle program is capable of producing. 2. Publish it in 480p facepalm.jpg
Ответитьcause 3 years ago I could only get the DVD version to upload. I am working on getting the Bluray version to share the ISO file like I did for the Special Edition DVD.
ОтветитьThanks a lot!
ОтветитьThat would be such good news!
ОтветитьAlert me when you do. I have one troubling question. The shuttle landed as a glider, so what would happen if it missed the landing shot?
Ответитьwe closely monitor the shuttles energy and guidance and have some downmodes if it doesn't look like the shuttle will make the runway, but worst case she turns toward the ocean, the crew bails out and we ditch her.
ОтветитьThe DVD up-convert looked fine. It was used at a NASA outreach.
ОтветитьThis is incredible. I wish the BBC/Discovery/etc would show 'documentaries' such as this, with intelligent comments and amazing camera shots rather than the overly fancy footage and dramatic voiceovers they do for everything. I would love this on Bluray, if it comes along!
ОтветитьAwesome doesn't describe this! I'm deeply saddened that it's all over. Is there a 2nd part? Perhaps "Descent"? In the upper left corner there was a 1/2...
ОтветитьI would watch this footage for 45 hours. Just spectacular. If they had these shots when we lost CHALLENGER, it would have allowed engineers to find the cause of the accident sooner.
Ответитьmuito , muito interessante é uma maravilha de se ver !
Ответить43 people have no spirit of inquiry or wonder. Do they marvel at anything?
ОтветитьAmazing photography
ОтветитьWhy did the boosters have to be bolted down? Did the weight of the vehicle not keep it in place by itself?
ОтветитьMichael Interbartolo you have provided great info for all of your stakeholders! ☺
ОтветитьCan this video be purchased anywhere?
ОтветитьWOW.. that is just crazy.... love this!
ОтветитьI miss the Space Shuttle.
Ответитьexcellent work, thank you very much for this video and especially for your work that made the shuttle a possibility
ОтветитьIncredible! Wish we could see this kind of footage from contemporary launches.
ОтветитьPurchased at Amazon

ОтветитьThank-you for the ISO file. Burned it without a problem.
Ответитьamazing footage of an extraordinary technical achievement
ОтветитьIs the paid version from Amazon any different from the download you have provided us with?
Also, in case I want a legal copy, where do I buy it?
I know its free and all but I like to pay for things I love! :P
Thanks in advance!
There's a version of this with music? I thought I've seen one but can't seem to find it.
ОтветитьOne of the most beautiful things I've seen recently. The beauty of engineering and aspiration. Technology and art.
ОтветитьTruly stunning photography.
ОтветитьGreat, just great. I really appreciate your work on that excellent lecture. One thumbs up is hardly enough.
BTW, Scott Manley brought me here to see this.
So, can we assume the prospect of the BluRay/Special Edition mass release is now as dead as the Shuttle program itself?
ОтветитьAlmost a million views, less than 500 comments. Interesting
ОтветитьЭто все уже в прошлом, теперь есть Иллон Маск....
ОтветитьMy daughters father-in-law was involved with the flying the shuttles piggyback to wherever they needed to be. If the shuttle had to land anyplace other than the cape he was there on the plane. He has some truly amazing stories about the shuttles. He was based out of Palmdale
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this beautiful video :)
ОтветитьDoes anyone have a link to the DVD ISO? (or a newer HD version) The Google download is long dead...
ОтветитьThe requested URL was not found on this server. That’s all we know.
ОтветитьIt is all great, but nobody in the world understands pound, inches and other crap. It is science video or what?
ОтветитьHow long does the water continue after the shuttle clears the tower?
ОтветитьDislikers don't just get it 🎨
ОтветитьHello Michael! I have loved watching this production for many, many years. I grew up in Titusville, with much of my family involved in the STS program in one way or another...most closely my Dad who was a payload project manager, and later Flow Manager for OV-105. I downloaded the ISO containing the complete DVD years ago from google sites, but have since lost it due to a computer failure. An attempt to reacquire it today shows the link is no longer valid. Would you be so kind as to take a look at this and at advise where I can pull a copy of it so I can share it with my kids?
ОтветитьGreat videos Matt
ОтветитьTranscendental.
ОтветитьHi everyone- Does anyone know if this great footage is available somewhere in a better resolution? At best the original movie Ascent by Matt Melis?
ОтветитьMichael, looks like a copy from the NASA channel I viewed years ago..
... 404. That’s an error.

This video from the Glenn Research Center highlights in stunning, behind-the-scenes imagery the launches of three space shuttle missions: STS-114, STS-117, and STS-124. NASA engineers provide commentary as footage from the ground and from the orbiters themselves document in detail the first phase of a mission.
