I was fishing a very clear creek in Oregon with bacon and catching crawfish. Trout were a little further away watching. One darted in for the bacon and I caught him . Another time I was at lake Havasu and using cherry cool aid hotdogs and caught a 20 lb carp.

If you use just the skin of the hot dog it works a little better staying on the hook, not always but….

Spam is a great bait. I use it over here for a number of different fish. Trick is to cut it into slices then fry two sides to make it tough, stays on the hook a lot longer.

me, being european use like 10 chicken livers for catfish and sturgeon, in america you could try to use 1-2 chickenlivers for carp and cats
