When you understand anatomy well enough, you can twist it however you want to create fleshy mutilations of the human form. Look at Baki. The muscles are all in the right place somehow. the muscles are somehow anatomically correct. I don't understand it either

I had a character who was mutated by a zombie virus resulting in a build as almost as wide as he was tall and full of muscle. It was a good example of intentionally breaking anatomical proportions to better show a character.

What I often like to do is draw how my characters nude or even without skin before adding features later to get a better sense of their proportions. I also prefer drawling muscular characters as it helps me proportion them, and add in unique details regarding their physical traits. I often hate how characters don't show specific physical traits like how the fastest sprinters have the same legs as the guy who can barely run. Give the sprinter a leaner or more muscular build to represent their physical abilities.
