In this video, we're going to cover some of the more "advanced" 3D printer filament types, and how to use them to get the most out of YOUR 3D printer (and 3d printed projects). If you like the video, please make sure to subscribe, and consider checking out the full-length version of this video, which obviously goes into MUCH more detail about each of these 3D printer filament types.

Nah, the coolest are the super materials, PPS, PEKK, PEEK, PEK, PAEK, PEKEKK and ULTEM (PEI), below those, PA-CF and PAHT-CF, PC, ABS-PC, PET-CF AND the modified ASA's.

you know what they say your as strong as your weakest component! and sometimes its not your printer but how you use it people are getting pei to run in 90C chambers with a 140C build plate so...close maybe next year lol

What Filament should i use for a Ashtray? PETG-CF?
Or do i need the special Filament from 3dkTOP Berlin. Its a special Filament wich is heatresistent up to 230C, but costs a lot.
My question is, should i use the special Filament, or its also Okay with cheaper stuff??
(Its for customer in huge amounts, Money isnt the problem)

I'm having quite some difficulties printing PAHT-CF from a local supplier which is very very stiff and leaves blobs all around the print no matter the speed and drying tims. I'm thinking about trying Bambu PAHT-CF, but if anyone has a better suggestion, I'd really appreciate it😊

poly on drone parts shatters on impact, pla even if you put cf in it delaminates easily, the best plastick for drones is TPU and thats it no othe fdm material can withsand impact as well as TPU and depending on the infill amount you choos to print with, you can make it pretty stiff....

None of these are cool advanced plastics.
There are conductive filaments on mcmaster carr that change conductance based on the nozzle temp at the time of printing.

As an example of advanced filaments. There are fire resistant, fire extinguishing, other fiber fill like fiberglass, continuous strand fiber fill etc etc etc

I have been watching the 3-D printing space for sometime. Looking for biodegradability. I mean proper biodegradability. Anything made with the plastics you listed will probably be around for the next thousand years.

Only PLA-CF looked half decent in the pics. The rest all looked like crap, might as well break out the glue gun and doodle the parts yourself.

These are just all marketing words. Real examples would be better.

if I want to print something to hang a plant pot outdoors, is it better to use petg-cf or abs-cf?

You missed ASA-CF, better than PETG-CF and costs the same. ASA-CF prints beautifully as well.

PA is Nylon... video has them separate.

You forget about Nylon filled with Glass Fiber - probably most durable for strength and heat resistance filament for today.

You gotta be careful with the carbon fiber stuff. Because the fibers are so small it is very dangerous to touch especially when it's still just a spool of filament. You can use super glue to make it safer but even still probably should not be handled by skin

ABS-CF or ABS-GF? Bambu doesn’t sell CF

Considering the health risks with CF filaments i simply dont find it worth the risk to print them anymore.

You didnt even go over PET-CF which was the only reason I clicked when I saw it in the thumbnail. Bait video, thumbs down

Zoom in to your fingers after touching carbon fiber filament. You’ll never touch it again after you do.😳

Carbon fiber doesn't make prints stronger. Carbon fiber is dying on its own due to it being woven. Most carbon fiber filaments are powder and small strands neither make your print stronger
