How Toby Fox Composed the Music of UNDERTALE

Thank you for making this video, it makes me curious about music and soundtracks, it makes me want to try learning and someday I will try to make an indie game. Thank you very much ToffeeBun, I will support every video you make as much as this 15 year old kid can do.

The two things that we learned from Toby Fox's composing process:

1. Toby liked his duty cycle
2. When in doubt, use SGM for Undertale music

Hey I'm really new to using FL Studio and I'm having trouble downloading/using some of the soundfonts because they're SF2 files could someone let me know what I'm doing wrong?

AAAAAAMAZZZIINNNNGGG VIDEO! Musician/FL user of 8 years here. this is just such a well put together edit of a vid. I can never get enough of learning. this video is like a very articulate sandwich that you can taste all the flavors and be able to tell apart what is what. I love soundfonts and I go crazy when I stumble across a video game sound in a vst no one has found yet! this is basically a gold mine. and I haven't even played undertale. I am very familiar with the sound track through out the years though. specifically 2015 and 2016 when leafyishere would use them. I actually watched this to better understand composing video game music with that VIDEO GAME sound from the 80s and 90s. I grew up playing nintendo: Wind Waker, SM64, Pokemon Black & White, X & Y, Diamond & Pearl etc... All the Zeldas and Mario Games for Gamecube, Wii, N64, SNES, NES, Gameboy, 3ds and DS.

MY POINT IS THIS VIDEO WILL BRING ME MUCH HELP AND IT HAS!

undertale and deltarunes ost are my favorite video game songs.especially finale and field of hopes and dreams

i always think the flute sound is some vst plugin or sth else

Undertale music is one of the reason that made me start doing music, and for that I will always be grateful

you do need 180$ to get both fl studio and soundfonts i consider most music editors that cost 180$ fancy

As a musician (who uses almost all the same things as Toby, DAW, soundfonts, VSTs) and beginner game dev the idea that in just a few months I could be at the same skill level Toby was when he made Undertale is... Inspiring. Thank you for making this video
