I wasn't expecting this so this is a nice surprise! Aaaand I think I've found Tess' number one fan 😄

A few general tips, but feel free to ignore them if you've already found those things out yourself by now 😅:
- don't waste shivs on human enemies
- doors that you can only open with shivs are always worth it in my opinion
- always take out the clicker first when you see a group of enemies, especially when they haven't noticed you yet and you can be stealthy
- shotguns and molotovs are AWESOME 😄
- sometimes you can simply bypass enemies (humans and infected), and don't have to fight all to progress

Other than that, play how you want. I've only watched your Origins playthrough, so this will be an entirely different experience 😄✌️

Great choice of a game. To answer your question. I play it on grounded difficulty. I can tell you it is definitely a challenge but fun.

Some non-spoilery, general gameplay tips that the game won't/might not tell you
1. Always Be Reloadin'. Not reloading and not using downtime to prep for fights is the number one cause of death and taking unnecessary damage in this game.
2. Be sure to manage your inventory during downtime (a spanner symbol next to your healthbar means you can craft something! If you are full on a supply, check if you can make something to make space for the loot)
3. DO NOT GET SHIV MASTER. It isn't an upgrade, it is a SCAM that will waste your precious shivs and waste your blades & bindings.
4. You can melee kill enemies with a brick. Mash the melee button thrice, quickly when near an enemy with a brick equipped. Works for almost all enemy types ;)
5. Always keep one whole shiv on you in case you run into shiv door supply caches
6. Clip Capacity upgrades not only let you hold more bullets in your gun, they let you carry more ammo for that weapon overall. BUT, in the second game clip capacity upgrades just let you hold more ammo in your gun, your overall carrying cap doesn't increase

I LOVE that you thought of Argentina when you saw Sara's picture and hanging jersey (jumper in your part of the world?). Normal mode in TLoU part 1 is like something between easy and normal in TLoU OG.
Hard mode here is actually more like normal difficulty in TLoU OG.

There are a few things that is a bit harder in part 1 vs OG... clickers, stalkers, and that molotovs are less efficient.
... but you won't realize these things unless you've played the original 🤪

Pro tip 1: Upgrade holsters early, it will let you switch between weapons quickly, it's almost like having more ammo.

Pro tip 2: I never craft, and rarely heal during a fight so upgrading healing speed and crafting speed is just wasting pills.
... and as someone already pointed out, "shiv master" is not a good idea.

Either there is a glitch in your game, or you are really good at avoiding in game triggers. Both the times you said "I thought they were going to take them out" that was exactly what was supposed to happen.
