I love this movie and it’s the little things that u don’t immediately catch that makes it great. For instance. There have been like a dozen copy paste movies similar to Major Payne. Why is it a classic everyone loves but the others like it are forgotten. I can point to a single scene: my favorite scene in the movie. Alex, the thorn in the Majors side since he arrived on campus. His drunken stepdad shows up for parents day and starts swinging. The major steps in, all the carbon copies have the major character simply kick this guys ass. As a viewer u actually want that but, this one he doesn’t, he warns him. Do not touch that child again or i will hurt you. For the next 30 seconds of screen time he simply places himself between Alex and the stepdad and ever so slightly with each move he creates more and more space between them and never throws a punch and is always there as a barrier. It’s so much more powerful subconsciously than if he just shows up and beats ol dudes ass. Tiny little things like that are what separates classics that we remember versus all the carbon copies no matter how much money is piled into it.

Fe fi fo fum, what bean stock you fall from?

The story about the little engine that could is my favorite part... because ironically enough, I could see multiple military family members of mine rewriting/telling children's stories similar to that lmao

And also when he waters his 'flowers'.

This has been on my list to rewatch for a couple of years now. I watched it A LOT as a kid.

Part of me worries that it won't hold up.

But I'm laughing pretty hard at some of these clips.

It's definitely hitting different as an adult, though.

My sons loved this movie and Uncle Buck. I heard many boys of their age wishing they be one of the "Green Boys!" Young Marines are an organization where the age range of 8 to 18 and have the same uniforms.

Great reaction ladies as always. It's always lovely to see you two beautiful girls together reacting to films. ;) I love this movie, as I consider it vastly underrated. Although it's a bit formulaic and predictable like most family comedies tend to be, it's still a good movie. It's one of those rare movies that gets better the older I get these days.

Damon Wayans never really got the recognition he deserved imo. Both he and Jim Carrey were arguably two of the funniest guys on "In Living Color" back in the day. But unfortunately, Damon never got as much recognition as Jim when they both went on to do movies. If you girls want to check out other films that Damon did, I can recommend a few that I remember were pretty good back in the day. I haven't seen them in ages, but I'll let you ladies decide if you want to react them later or not if you haven't already. Anyways, the films I was going to recommend are "Mo Money", "Blankman", "The Last Boyscout", and "Earth Girls are Easy" to name a few. I know he also did a movie with Adam Sandler called "Bulletproof", which I don't think I ever saw. However, he did have a minor role in "Hollywood Shuffle" though, which is definitely worth checking out, as that features another underrated actor imo in Robert Townsend.

Happy late birthday Natalie by the way. I'm sorry I missed this video when it initially came out, and forgot to say it in my previous comment on this video. You look as beautiful as you did last year, as you don't look a day over 18 imo. ;) Hope you had a good birthday, and take care.

I still crack up everytime I see the scene, when Major Payne shoots at the closet to get rid of the "boogeyman", and say "If he's still in there, then he ain't happy." XD It sort of reminds of me of the time my little niece said she saw zombies in her closet, when she was 5 years old. To humor her, I went into that same closet, and I used my voice acting abilities that I've practiced prior to that day to pretend I was in an epic zombie fight in the closet. I could hear my little niece getting all worried about me from outside the closet door, as I made loud epic fight noises that made it sound like I was fighting with a bunch of zombies, but it was just me acting like an idiot. Afterwards, I walked out and I told her I beat up all the zombies, and got rid of them. She said I was her hero after that day. It was so sweet. XD

THE PRIVATE WAR OF MAJOR BENSON (1955) One of my favorite actors, Charlton Heston, in an exceedingly well made drama/comedy, reduced to this obscene lunacy, by the HIGHLY OVERRATED, UNFUNNY, PATHETIC, OFFENSIVE D. Wayans, is insulting on soooo many levels ! It astounds me, what passes for humor, today. Such concrete confirmation of the dumbing-down of America. So, so, so, so, so, PATHETIC ! ! !
