I am not sure if this is true. But if yes, then ICC is just bootlicking to please BCCI and Indian fans. If any shot can be labelled as shot of the century, then it has to be Douglas Marillier’s invented ramp shot or Dilshan’s scoop. For that changed the modern cricket which we cherish today.

It had to be hit at a perfect angle , slight deviation in execution it would have gone too high but not far enough,or stayed too low and get caught either way

This is a trash shot that ended up going for a six. It could of gone right up and into the keepers hand. The first criteria of the shot should be was it a in some manner technical. This is just moving away and swatting the ball.

That back of the good length delivery and launching that shot for a six in a high pressure situation which makes the shot tougher is just pure genius and magical.
