Were the society ladies just actresses? Or were they truly ladies? I sure wouldnt have wanted to work in that era. The 70 -2000's were all i could handle and as a woman i saw a lot of change.

This was a fun episode, and really eye opening about what life was like for servants and how grateful we can be that times have changed and we truly have better lives. Also the jelly part was so funny! Zoe is such an entitled baby and so annoying. Why was she even in this series?

As amusing as this is, this is a tremendously inaccurate representation of the period. There are so many "made for TV" inaccuracies in this. Come on Absolute History, research the time period properly. Disappointing.

The Titanic sinking technically marked the end of the Edwardian era because it revealed the absurdity and inhumanity of the class system. Afterwards all ships were equipped with safety equipment to save everyone regardless of wealth and status. These rich, obnoxious twits still clinging to the caste system were rudely awakened by the First World War when even the well-to-do snobby, aristocrat junior officers didn't last more than a few minutes going over the top of a trench in an attack.

Was really a shame is it throughout history? People realize Ringo consolation prizes for just existing. Everyone nowadays things are special and they deserve something just for breathing back then if you want to be special or survive, you got to earn it or be special. It’s going to sound weird, but everyone had their place and they burned that place by the work there intelligence because the status was given without just compensation now to go just want to be given everything they want to be the one percent but they do the work at the 99%

She said she wouldn’t want to live that kind of life that is purely OK, but you have to make a choice of which like you want to live but you can’t loop and if you’d like to eat or not because there are plenty of places and lots of other job and horrible and horrible communal living situation exact time and before they were plenty of poor people that did not want to do the job we’re having discipline but the ones that at least have something

As if celebrities don’t do the same to their PAs, personal chefs, house keepers and staff. Lol it’s funny I can see all of them treating their staff like this in their day to day life. They act shoe shocked because it’s happening to them but nothings changed. This still happens.

Brilliant programme. If it wasn't for the WW1, that state of affairs would have been carried on for another 100 years. As much as it might sound terrible, but sometimes wars happen for the best. Maybe not for generation that had to fight it, but certainly for their children.

I couldn't believe that Zoe Smith was too finicky to pluck a pheasant. That's a 21st century affectation based on the fact that the standard of living is much higher and the economy is much more productive than it was over a century ago. If she had actually been a scullery maid in 1913, she would have gotten over that squeamishness pretty quickly. Actually she would not have even had it.
