ОтветитьHi Gill. Thanks for the great video. I have a question regarding the following sentence:
I stayed in a great hotel overlooking the sea.
My question is in regard to 'overlooking'.
The tense is in the past (stayed). Is 'overlooking' being used as an adjective or continuous verb form?
Thanks in advance.
So playful Lady. Pure pleasure to follow He lections
ОтветитьEnglish is my second language and I've been studying it for more than 10 years. I consider myself fluid, don't even have a latin accent at this point; but I have never heard of double spelling past tense words until now! Who knew there where still something to learn on english grammar! It feels thrilling to find something new to learn after I thought I had mastered the language already 🥰
ОтветитьAmazing teacher, tkx

Could you please do a lesson on preposition, please?

I have burned and I had burned

ОтветитьThe cook burned the dinner, so the dinner is burnt.I kneeled and he or she or they knelt. I leaped and others lept also.
ОтветитьYou have cleared many douts in my mind than u very much
ОтветитьYou have cleared many douts in my mind thank u very much
ОтветитьHello! My name is Thanh Ka. I come from VietNam. Can I learn online with you ? I dont know how contact with you now? Pls.
ОтветитьDear Gill. The subject of your lesson is confusing. You spoke about Past Simple Tense (preterite) and Past Participle.
ОтветитьThank You Mam .
❤
Super Good 👍
ОтветитьThank you very much!
ОтветитьWonderful!
ОтветитьI heard that LEARNED (for example) could be pronounced differently in regards to whether it's an adjective or a verb... in such cases as "a learned man" (as a scientist) and "he learned many languages", the endings sound not in the same way (that is [ıd] and [d]/[t])... could you elaborate this topic with such cases, Gill, please?
ОтветитьCute teacher ;)
ОтветитьAnother example. The past tense of 'to dive' is 'dived' in GB English, but US English uses 'dove' [rhymes with 'cove' and 'wove']. In UK English 'dove' rhymes with 'love' and is the name of a pigeon-like bird.
Ответитьthank you for all thing
