Aurora Serverless v2 is now.... SERVERLESS! (kind of)

I guess that's as good as it gets for now, hopefully one day we can see truely serverless DB

good video and feature! what i still don't understand, what will happen with that first request after long pause and before db is up again? is the request lost? is it pending for 15 secs and eventually written into db?

Probably only good for a dev server. I would not want my users wait for 15 seconds for a request to come in... Also we always maintain a connection pool, so it doesn't even apply, good to know though!

is this ACU thingy region specific? i think it is bcz I did not able to scale down to 0 for prod ? or you are talking about arora dsql ?

I presume this is a dumb question: Why the waiting period / coldstart thing? Why not just make it work like DynamoDB?
