an interesting production, it works sufficiently but not more than that.
In the 1st act Mimi is wearing a casual, but elegant satin bustle dress that one might imagine Violetta (La Traviata) wearing in the country.
A good strategy pairing Gheorghiu with a young dynamic Grigolo, perhaps trying to evoke the bygone years of Gheorghiu and Alagna.
The supporting cast is good and the plot moves along at a sprightly pace.
Perhaps it's a matter of understanding your audience, maybe some Asian audiences don't have as much exposure to western opera as their U.S. and Euro counterparts, so they don't want to see Mimi in a moth eaten cotton dress.
Franco Corelli at a 1971 Tokyo delivers a resounding "Che gelida manina" that's absolutely over-the-top, it practically blows the roof off the concert hall, however it was undeniably magnificent and the audience went crazy.

너무 아름다운 오페라 라보엠을 직접 듣고 보고 싶네요

Bellissima regia e SCENOGRAFIA super originale un capolavoro

Nunca había visto tanta comedia y falsedad en el rol de Rodolfo, he tenido bastante con el primer acto, me recuerda a otro comediante R.Villazon, está farsa que monta el marketing que se la crea otro!!! Si la ópera va por este camino que se dediquen a montar otros espectaculos !!!

the sound is HORRIBLE

There are flaws in this production and the costumes are not conventional but for some reason, it is magical. Angela Gheorghiu and Vittorio Grigolo are on fire and the main singers are all mesmerising. I love seeing Mimi dressed beautifully for once and not in some ugly old rag of a dress. The costumes and singers really are the set but they don't just look pretty, Vittorio and Angela have amazing voices with absolute precision which you cannot always hear due to outdoor arena.

Haut niveau en ce qui concerne surtout la distribution, avec particulièrement une émouvante Mimi, interprétée par la belle Angela Gheorghiu, habituée a interpréter ce rôle, mais qui joue ici avec ses airs langoureux et aguicheurs, un peu (beaucoup) le personnage de Musette..... La vraie Musette de cette production, la pétulante Laura Giordano, ne manque pas non plus de charme ni de séduction .....Vittorio Grigolo illustre un Rodolphe passionné, à la voix solaire.....Une mention aussi pour le remarquable Marcel de Byung-Woo-Kong.....Excellente direction d'orchestre....Décors étranges mais fonctionnels....Merci pour ce beau partage.😍

An outstanding performance by Angela Gheorghiu. She owned the stage with her vocal talent and acting skills.

Overall, the orchestra and singing was excellent but the acting was variable. For me, Act 3 shows the singers' acting qualities: Mimi and Marcello, Marcello and Rodolfo, Rodolfo and Mimi. Angela Gheourghiu (Mimi)'s movement and expression was superb, Byung Woo Kong showed considerable talent, but Vittorio Grigolo (Rodolfo) was wooden with little sense of body position and arm movement.

루돌푸 그대의찬손. 최고입니다. 곧이어서 게오르규의 내이름 은 미미. 걸맞는 파트너들이네요. 안젤라의 전성기때인가 너무. 잘하네요. 사랑의 이중창 이번한국 에서 사태가 가슴아프네요. 칼라스도 50대 초반 영국에서 리사이틀때 너무. 힘들어보이는데. 그리고얼마후 약물중독으로 사망소식. 예술가들의. 말로 슬픈소식.

이 오페라에서 안젤라 게오르규의 미미 역할은 잘 맞지 않는 것같다. 미미는 병약한 여인이며 이 오페라의 배경이 되는 계절인데, 안젤라 게오르규는 몸을 다 내놓고 노래하는 것도 가냘픈 여인의 소리를 내지 못하고 있다.
