its far far worse than EVER!.

the X to end it is the same as a regular ride, and you end up X out a good ride!
its also ANNOYING AF!

also, for Trip radar, its NOT all rides that get passed on, some are preloaded by uber ive literally gotten a ride i accepted on the radar and the customer was right next to me....and it was a good ride. (this was vegas strip so i was at the pickup already). customer was like omg that was fast...i asked how long and he said he barely hit request ride and then here i was.
i rarely see a ride i denied on radar, and when it does it says "previously seen".

but the biggerst thing is this trip radar is annoying AF, the noise, the pop ups, because i pass on so many ive accidently passed on good rides because its the same exact boxes as a regular ride.

What’s annoying is that you ignore the trip radar offer then Uber still directly send it to you, then again you ignore it to which it affects your acceptance rate. Riders are suffering too. Pick up to airport 22 minutes, drop the off $22 minutes for $12, early in the morning. If I didn’t make up my mind and go in one such request, the passenger would have missed their flight. Comfort rides fare are sometimes lower than regular as well. Uber and Lyft are exploiting drivers and riders, what a shame no one is doing anything about it.

I agree completely! The constant pinging drives me crazy...would love to be able to turn it off!! I was a Diamond driver but I've been turning down so many of these trash rides that over the past few months, I've dwindled back down to regular (blue) status. I haven't done Lyft so I can't speak for it, but Uber is trash and I've stopped doing rideshare.

In Vegas, trip radar will send 40-50 requests per minute during prak hours on Friday and Saturday night. 99% of them are crap but have to be declined or it will keep beeping. This causes us to drive one handed and take our eyes off the road far more than we should.

@HarringJess
@HarringJess - 24.04.2024 00:02

Amen! - - My acceptance rate is 28%. If the trips were a lot more valuable, the AR would be higher.

My suggestion is that radar should be like InstaCart. When we swipe it away, it only comes back at a higher amount. When we swipe away 2nd and 3rd time, it will come back but InstaCart continues to increase the amount until a driver accepts it. So if Uber has the radar be like that, it would work out way better because the ride only comes back higher with a surge.

No because they're sending food deliveries to customers that are 23 miles away, like not a specialty restaurant, but like a jack in the box. How horrible for the customer. Why isn't the restaraunt closest to the customer assigned? When they order they can no longer see the location of the restaraunt ... Why would you order a jack in the box from 23 miles away? At first I thought it was a mistake like oops I ordered from the wrong location, but no Uber is sending the orders to the wrong retail locations. There are certainly closer locations to the customer.

Cutting the quest, promos, etc has made me much more selective. Couple weeks ago i drove 12 hours on a Wednesday and made $316. I never made that much before. The thing i don't like is them kicking us off if we decline 2 rides in a row. Then when you're dropping off a passenger it just constantly sends you request. It makes look Uber desperate.

It's unbelievable. Lyft sent me a ride 25 minutes away for just a 3-minute ride request. What were they thinking? I didn't take it. It looks like drivers are tired of scams or abuse from companies.

i agree with you. i completely hate trip radar! i drive for uber and lyft in south texas and we primarily get the trip radar at the only airport from the 3 in the area that actually has a first in/first out queue and the trip radar circumvents by skipping drivers who've been waiting longest in the queue. i no longer push myself to reach diamond level again because of this. sadly, we don't get to see how much the fare is on any ride until it's completed. for gold and higher, we only see the duration of the trip and the long trips are where we make the most money obviously. for lyft, we don't have a FIFO queue at the airport so i could be sitting and waiting for a trip to come in from the terminal and lyft will throw a bullshit trip at me with a pick up 8 miles away and a dropoff 2 miles from the pickup. my acceptance rate on lyft is 9% because i refuse to take nickel and dime trips that don't pay well.

Uber causes most if not all of the drivers accidents. Your either taking your eyes off the road or hand from the steering wheel or both.
They make it dangerous to drive if you don't take the next ride they throw at you.

Uber isn’t the issue it’s the dumbass programmers that just can’t leave the app alone… $1 a mile… pretty simple change the algorithm back to paying drivers and the platform will be even more profitable for everyone.
And stop regulating $20 an hour and go back to $36 to $40 an hour where it used to be!

What I hate is when Uber and Lyft send you a ride and you decline the ride, then about five minutes later they send you the same ride again because there were no other drivers in the area. Look LYFT and Uber, I declined the damn ride for a reason, I do not want it, so please stop sending it to me. Text the customer and tell them that there are no drivers in the area and they’ll have to try again later, it’s not that hard.

I do U.E. full time. I’ve done over 8,000 deliveries. The Trip Radar ruins my day, every day.
My acceptance rate is 23%. Rarely do I ever take a trip radar order. It’s the sounds that distract and frustrate me to the point of having to log out. This happens every day. I do Instacart instead. It’s the only thing I dislike about Uber. I just wish there was an option or mute. No kidding, sometimes I feel assaulted, like it has a serious negative effect on me emotionally, and psychologically.
To hear those noises for a full shift every day is a lot to deal with. I have to log out. Only because of the Trip Radar. If it makes drivers want to log out and drive for other platforms, that must be the worst idea they’ve ever come up with.

My issue is when u get a big order for Uber eats and accept it and trip radar immediately says all orders are taken.. how tf can it be taken if u just sent it to me?! I accept instantly if I see it's $1 per mile or more. anyone complaining about time isn't bright and shouldn't be using the app. Getting paid $12 for a 4 mile trip is far above a 1 per mile. Even the examples dude used shows he's not that bright. Who's gonna pay u 10 dollars per mile. It said 25 dollars for .07 of a mile bro stop. But when it's 16 miles and 8 bucks yes that's a rip off! But I feel something fishy happening because these trips keep getting taken after sent to you then they send u a order for 2 dollars going 5-10 miles. Uber has lost their minds charging customers more and given the ppl that make them even exist less. Uber doesn't exist without drivers period. They're likely doing this so they can start using robots for delivery like other countries do and or automated cars like some places are doing. They're taking mote profit to fund this and escape having to pay actual ppl. The world is going to this in all industries. We need to rid the world of these corps
