I remember taking my psp to classes a few years back and killing two diablos on recess with double swords. Good times.

Diablos is one of those fights that only really started getting good from the third gen onwards. Older gen, it relies a lot on nonsense and janky hitboxes to actually provide a challenge, stuff like the scream stunning you for so long that you can't really get out the way of the charge anymore, or the dig animation stunning you with wind pressure for long enough to very nearly guarantee you're gonna get hit.

A lot of it is basically just artificial difficulty, where newer titles actually give him a fair but dangerous moveset.

I used to hate diablos in MHFU until I learn the power of the dark side of the force, which is Pellet S.

2 G rank Blos hunts take less than 10 minutes with pellet.

But OG Diablos was easy, never had a problem with the ol broken horned one either.

Fun fact: breaking the other horn increases diablos health which means thats x2 health since the other is already broken.

When Diablos digs it'll go in a straight line to your last location, just run to the place where it started digging and wait until it comes out of the ground then hit the tail quickly for massive damage, try to focus on the tip to avoid the tail swap attack.

Ahh. Good ol Demon king Diablos. I remember the first time i beat this guy, i have tranquilizing guru, and there was a minute left in the clock and the pink dot turned yellow. Fun times.

Playing this recently, as a more experienced hunter, happy to say it took only around 15-20 mins to beat him.
