When the thing you are buying is purposely set up to be invonvenient for you as a consumer, but favourable to the provider, you know it's a scam. It shouldn't be a subscription and the provider knows it. You would maybe enjoy one box, but here's a bunch of boxes and a form to fill out when you want to stop spending money...

Yeah no those loot crate box subscription services are all fucked. I remember doing tokyo treat, buying one box, cancelling the subscription immedieately after. Because god forbid I just wanted to try it, right? Turns out the cancellation "didnt go through" so I tried a week later, and it seemed fine? For some reason, didnt get a confirmation email or anything, and that should have been a red flag.

A month later, get an email that my next box has been *ordered*, so I immedieately call up customer service, and the wouldn't process a refund, due to "how their system works". The box hadnt been shipped yet.

So I stopped that shit through my bank. Weird thing is, never got the second box. Probably because an order *could be cancelled*, but just didnt want too because they thought they already had my money

Man those subscription boxes really blew up in like 2015 but I always thought they where shady and watching people open them sometimes you’d get like 1 good thing then other months you’d basically get nothing deffo a waste of money and better to just spend it on something you actually want

I used to be subbed to loot crate. I got some cool stuff but a lot of delayed boxes which started to get scummy.

The company ain't sent me my boxes until I email them at all! Legit I ordered in September for 3 Mon subscription and got first 1 in December! And still waiting another and it has taken 2 emails of me asking for them

"Shitcrate." 😂 Yeah, that's about right for the blind/surprise stuff. The value isn't much better with the themed ones, but some people just like collecting tat. Or so I hope. A lot probably gets tossed straight in the bin because it's garbage...

Got quite a few LootAnime crates in the past. Some were better than others, and still think the best overall value I got was my very first box amazingly, one of the rare ones that managed to come close to being as good was because it had a decent prize figure included.
Since then they have gone below rock bottom. System couldn't handle placing a subscription and a one-off special purchase in the same order, so never got the collection I really wanted, then most recentlly had an order silently cancelled while they continued to sell the special crate, but US only now. Stay far away from LootCrate now. It's such a gamble.
