£300 isn't budget to me, my Omen 1440p monitor is £150 i got it last Christmas sale 😍

Really good alternative of Dell 2724D and LG UltraGear 27GR83Q-B.

It is not clear whether to choose wide gamut or sRGB colour space - due to oversaturated content. If I want games and usual online content look more close to its intended colours I should use sRGB colour space, right? And if yes then why even offer that wide gamut colour space? For image processing professionals?
Second question: even if I calibrate monitor with DataColour SpyderXpro wide gamut will still give oversaturated colours, right?

i watched a Chinese review and they measured 1111:1 contrast ratio, another English review and they measured 1117:1 contrast ratio, but in your review it says 890:1, why is it different? i really want to get the monitor if it's above 1000:1

it might be a lot to ask and it's ok if you can't answer me, there is no rma, warranty or return policy in my country and i really need helping getting one of these monitors:

these are the only available 1440p 27" monitors in my country right now and all of these are being sold at almost same price here which is crazy. (i don't care about hz, even 144hz is enough for me, mainly care about accurate sdr colors and above 1000 contrast). so this is the list:

asus rog xg27acs (bad matte coating based on people's opinions, makes white/gray/light colors to look grainy/smudgy idk what they exactly mean but i have vg279qr with 3h matte coating currently and i'm fine with it. maybe in that model it's more harsh?)

msi g274qpf-qd (lower contrast ratio (under 1000:1) compared to other ips monitors and bad black uniformity, based on rtings review)

acer Predator XB273UNV (i think that it's only 200 nits maximum in sdr based on tomshardware review but some people are saying that this monitor has a max brightness option that makes it 350-400 nits)

cooler master tempest g27q (really wanted tempest GP27Q to be well but reddit stories and amazon reviews on this monitor are super brutal, idk if i should get it and just update the firmware)

asus tuf vg27aqml1a (didn't find any good technical reviews, but based on amazon reviews and asking other people who bought it, it's good, only found 1 good technical review which was in chinese a based on rtings gamma curve but a good contrast ratio, also mentioned something bad about srgb color gamut volumes, didn't understand well)

asus tuf vg27aqL3a (lower contrast ratio compared to other ips monitors, 800:1)

LG UltraGear 27gp850-b (very bad contrast ratio based on rtings, no swivel)

i don't use hdr at all(if it's below hdr600), only keep it at sdr (cause hdr400 is not real hdr). i play single-player games with high graphics, also do web design, so accurate 99-100% srgb and realistic sdr srgb colors are very important for me. i have been researching for days and days. i also watch movies and do some photo/video editing too. i also use vrr(gsync compatible) all the time in games (60-80 fps) so a flicker free vrr monitor is also important to me

i also understand that almost all ips panels have glow, backlight bleeding and low contrast ratio but some ips panels have better contrast ratios (measured above 1000:1)

this monitor is trash do not buy, returning mine after a day of using.

Interestingly, hardware unboxed got much better contrast ratio, at 1100:1, so you might have gotten unlucky with the panel. However, the common thing between both reviews is excellent motion clarity, with a great variable overdrive setting that works over the wide range of refresh rate, and standard colour accuracy is great, especially in the sRGB mode. Will definitely consider this monitor

The contrast ratio is deal breaker.

Hi. Let me throw this at you, if you please.Does this panel use the standard "RGB subpixel layout", rather than the triangular or that other style layout? Using a RGB subpixel layout is said to be much better at displaying text and it is optimized for Windows! I'm surprised that, so far, all monitors i see for sale - do not mention this at all. Hoping you'd know for sure.

Hi how does the display look, im reading some complains on reddit and ytb that it has some weird matt coating and it looks like fuzzy and its very annoying to the eyes, is that true?

The only bad thing here is that it has only 890:1 contrast. Imo the IPS monitors are good when they pass the original 1000:1 over it. Like 1100-1200:1 while still having good response time. I wonder to buy this monitor as my first 1440p ever, but i'm curious about that low contrast. You think i should give it a try?

This is the ONLY channel I found that has any idea how to review backlight strobing and full screen UFO Cross talk testing and you even included the brightness "nits" for each strobe level, WOW Amazing.
So you are saying there is just too much cross talk with ELMB Sync enabled?

I've just bought it and I'm returning it in a few days. This monitor would be perfect if the coating wasn't so agressively grainy. It's not visible while playing games or watching movies, but on any mostly white/light background the display looks like it had a layer of grease/vaseline on it. I'm buying Dell g2724d shortly after. I was deceived by the Asus ROG brand and its legacy was the only thing that made me buy this Asus monitor. Besides the coating. It's well done for the price amd has good features. I bought it for 325 USD so it was slightly more expensive than Dell g2724d.

I got this monitor on prime day sale for $200. It's well worth it for the price but the matte finish on it is one of the worst i've seen in person. I think the Dell G2724D is a better option for budget monitor if you care about the finish.

I also have that Omen X 25 (TN 240hz G-Sync variant). It's a shame ULMB on that monitor is limited to 144hz. I'm actually looking to upgrade to XG27ACS so this is literally the perfect video.

For example, is elmb sync not active when playing games between 80 and 100 Hz? Or does it benefit gameplay?

I’ve tested this monitor and the matte coating is too thick causing the image to look like when you have a wet smudge/or an oily screen on a white or grey background. The points of sale being the low latency at high fresh rates and barely any flickering.

G2724D over this for colour accuracy and response. Otherwise if you need a slightly higher refresh rate go for the ROG
