I think the best way as someone else commented was to buy the truck for her and with intention to re-sell and give her extra money back, like you said it gets a little hairy, and while I know your good conscious would feel bad for getting it for $900 you would feel resolved of your guilt once you sold it and gave her some extra.....but that also sort of looks "shady" in a way unless you show/tell her how much you sold it for etc.

I understand your view point, the giving away of control is what you feel guilty about so you're doing it the other way where the end result is the same and she maintains control. Also man, while you did just "procrastinate" you helped someone out vs just worked on the 240 yourself. You cant always help someone out, but you can do it 1 time of working for yourself 10-20 of the times. Love the vids man. Got a good heart its hard to say no. I think you should sell it for her and i think it should bring or at least here in oklahoma around 2500 mark easy and i think you should charge 700 you put well over 200 in parts and that way at 2500 she makes 1800 instead of 750 or less. so thats a win win.

I'd say if you made your customer 1500 more, I'd wait until the truck is sold then ask for 400-600 for parts and diagnose. And scale it up if she gets more for it, but not too bad with the situation and all. I only watched the video though, I don't know how much time you put into it.

I had the same truck and put 5 gallons of old fuel in it, stopped running, I ended up having to fill the tank up 5 gallons at a time to get it to run.

I think 1k was a very fair price for helping a friend. Honestly you probably lost money. 400 in parts, two days work, and your gas? You'll put 600 in your pocket at that price. She's gonna make more off the truck in better shape than you made for getting it there. Feel good about helping, not bad for charging. She should get 2,500 all day for that thing!
