Original Prusa i3 MK2 Guide for a new user

I ordered one of your printers, and still waiting for its arrival. I'm a professional sculptor, and I'm new to this stuff. I was wondering what 3d scanner would you recommend for sculptors?

how about jams??? how do u clean the extruder, the extruder twists in the housing when i try to unscrew the nozzle, i also tried to heat the extruder and it melted the housing on the corners, never downgrade from Makerbot or Ultimaker to Prusa :(

For additional filament (PLA), what is the correct size for default nozzle? I'm confused between .4mm and 1.75mm seen online filament sellers. The manual talks about acupuncture needle .3-.35mm. Thanks.

You are working to a new frame design? I spot behind in the right shelf a frame and i believe in the back of the frame where psu should be is a metal frame to improve stability? Am i wrong?

If you have trouble getting the print off, a spray of Isopropyl alcohol round the print can help for PLA.

Hello all. I would like to ask if anyone knows what are the lowest pc specs that could be used for 3D printing with Prusa printer? I tried to find any pc requirements but with no success.

I got my mk 2 arriving before the end of the week .im cramming all the info i can get so to have a little heads up on any problems with assembling or even running this printer. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail. my version is the fully upgraded mk2 version did they make a half upgraded version also ?

I have spent hours trying to fix my assembled version which was making dents in the heatbed during the calibration tests. Took three months and a half to get it. I've watched this video about seven times, searched through forums, FAQs and communicated with employees and still is not working properly :(

Do you have to calibrate if you buy pre assembled

I am encountering an issue where the PLA during the V2calibration print is not sticking as well to the left side of the bed. It sort of dabs out on the left side instead of laying entirely flat as it does on the right? I checked the bed leveling it passed.

My assembled printer came with PRUSA printed on hotbed. Do I still have to go through calibration and all other extras work?

Hi there Jef ! I am a maker and just moved to Canadá/Toronto. I am trying to acquire a Mk2 here, and can't find it anywhere. :( The nice guys from Voxel Factory (montreal) seems to only have the Mk3, wich is good, but i am on a budget now, and the mk3 model is more expensive i guess. :( Is there any other way to get one ? I am trying to keep my little project called RomniArcade going on, so i need a good printer. Thanks !

Are we gonna be able to use 1.75 mm filament on the 3 mm version. I'm still a 3D printer noob so...

Just some tips for builders of the 2s. I’m using a height of 1.3 mm for the sensor and a Z correction of -850, this gives me perfect results with the supplied PLA. Also I am sticking with firmware 3.1.0. I’ve experienced problems with later versions. Hope this helps.

I just rebuilt my I3 with the MK2 upgrade kit. I am having a hard time getting the print to adhere to the bed. I have it dialed in on calibration, but the "first layer test" isn't sticking. I tried using some glue on the bed, but still not working. Wondering if there are any other tips or tweaks I should be trying.

today, Nov 1st 2021, I assembled my MK2 that I purchased in July 2017. Today it rained all day and I had nothing else to do. Let's hope that the printer is still working!

Found a unit on the street. It's a prusa i3 clear frame. Would that be a MK1 or custom build ?? I have zero experience and need to figure out what to do with it to get printing .
