I don’t get why people get so disappointed when seeing the little mermaid like what is the big difference from in real life and on the pictures. If you are expecting it to be this big statue then you need to get your mindset right, I’m sorry but it’s just a normal sized mermaid sitting on a rock sorry to burst your bubble.
ОтветитьI just like to suggest one (for me strange) place to visit. Just north of Copenhagen is an open air art museum called : Louisiana. Yes really. Now, I am not an 'artsy' person and I am absolutely not into modern art, but I LOVE Louisiana. It's a park along the sea front with sculptures, and even if some are trying to make some kind of important point, I swear some artist are putting up sculptures just for a laugh... OK, It might be difficult to squeeze in on a long weekend, but if you have an extra day in Copenhagen you really MUST go. It will be the only museum of modern art that your children love! I know a family from Odense who's children prefeer Louisiana (in Spring and summer) to Tivoli, and THAT is hard to believe if you have children. Go go go!
ОтветитьBro you just need to go to Netto and buy the 25 cent beers
ОтветитьGo to the supermarket!! I found Copenhagen economical .
ОтветитьIn love with Copenhagen!!❤
Ответитьi literately only trust your travel videos😭❤️
ОтветитьWent here in 2018 was real fun.
ОтветитьDude. You forgot about the taxis. They are more expensive than EA. It’s absolutely insane.
ОтветитьI was recently in Copenhagen and I fell in love with the city, I hope to go back soon!
ОтветитьDanes can be a bit defensive about criticisms of Denmark. Read Piet Hein for more on that. For proof, just read the comments here.
ОтветитьEating while talking-gross
ОтветитьService isn't bad, we just respect your privacy and won't invade your personal space by approaching you.
ОтветитьYou’re so cute
ОтветитьAlso about the service: Just because we Danes do not approach a new table with the comment: "Hey I am Chad I will be your waiter tonight" does NOT mean we are not into providing good service, we just provide it on a much more less superficial level than Americans would do. I really preferer the Danish way to be honest.
ОтветитьDoes the service industry work for a living, or, do they get income from somewhere else and the servers can afford to be nasty? In my city of New Orleans known for superb cuisine, if a server had an attitude, he would be fired on the spot. That is because N. Orleans rely on its business for its charm, hospitality and famous cuisine and if the workers don't cooperate, it would ruin it for the industry. Actually servers are sent to another state to be trained ,so they can learn to pour the wine, answer questions, etc. If I ever go to Denmark, I would prefer to cook my own food instead of putting up with rude behavior.
ОтветитьBeautiful series
Copenhagen really wonderful
Yeah dont be too confident about leaving your kid in a stroller outside the grocery store. With the influx of refugees and immigrants from africa, eastern europe and places like syria its best to be safe than sorry. Not saying something WILL happen, but dont get too comfortable either and use common sense.
ОтветитьNever mess with a fat mans food
ОтветитьThis video could be easily renamed to " Copenhagen in a typical American perspective"
ОтветитьMy mom went to copenhagen once, and she sayed that if you want something from there, please pay attention to the prices, because denmark is a really expensive country. So I decide to have guitar strings (I’m a guitar player), and I was so suprised that they we’re almost 80 crowns, but here in finland they are only about 8 euros
ОтветитьThe mermaids at the airport are cooler
ОтветитьServices are bad ? that's odd to me ...
ОтветитьI wonder where the ratio "Seven-Eleven/Citizen" is higher: In Copenhagen, or in Bangkok.....?
ОтветитьYou should have been in Copenhagen in the 60´es and 70´es! I grew up in Knabrostræde which is a side street to "Strøget". I loved my childhood in that part of Copenhagen, and you´re right: The city ifself are one big museum - for free!
ОтветитьIf you are a tourist in Copenhagen and wants to see more of Scandinavia I highly recommend taking the Oslo Fairy, it is a really nice experience especially if you travel on commodore class. And if you are used to airport security and check in time, taking the ferry is just on a whole other level. 2 minutes to get past check in and be there 15 minutes before departure. You might have to show your passport once, but all they really care about is your ticket.
ОтветитьI love this….visiting there in later July.
ОтветитьWatch for bikes everywhere, not just Copenhagen.
ОтветитьTivoli is not free!? You have to Pay 150 kroner for entry... I do not understand why turist come to Danmark. Danmark is very augly, boring, gray, flad country and there is nothing to se😣
ОтветитьThe prices definitely surprised me.. The people are unique. The town is amazing and the food is great.
ОтветитьI'm so excited! I am going this weekend. I was all over Europe for the first time this summer. MARK!!!! You are the best. I know this trip will be the best because of your family and you.
ОтветитьDenmark is absolutely a good place to live and work .
ОтветитьI don’t agree your point of view about service. I found the people in shops or restaurants really nice.
Foods is juste excellent from Smørbroed to the best restaurants, I liked everything.
New danish cuisine is awesome, I was in Amass and Barr, both were very good. I felt in love with Amass : dishes and service was just excellent. I will come back to Copenhague soon.
I have been going to Copenhagen nearly every year since 2010. I thought the service was fine and polite. 7-11 is one of the most expensive places you can possibly shop. If you want to buy some relatively cheap alcohol then shop in Aldi or Lidl. Yes you have to be careful when crossing the road. The weather pretty much anywhere north of the Alps is a matter of pot luck. I have experienced some glorious weather in Denmark. I have walked through Nyhaven about three times ever, only because it was on the way to somewhere and once saw a sign advetising a pint of Carlsberg for 79 Kroner in 2018 which was ten Pounds sterling. If you like home cooked food at a reasonable price then eat at Chicky Grill Halmtorvet 21, which is very close to the central station. Denmark is significantly more expensive post-pandemic, not just merely pricey. Even when this video was made it would have been possible to do some research online for inexpensive places to eat and drink. You can buy a coffee in Christiania for just 10 Kroner.
ОтветитьI actually hate the type of service in the States, they are so intruding. Also they way they ask you "How are you doing" when entering a store. None of your business. Just leave me alone- I'll ask if I need help. So yeah, the service is a cultural thing.
The weather: it's different from year to year. Think the last 3-4 yrs summers = heat wawe
NEWSFLASH!
This video is now 7 years old and it is no longer expensive for Americans or Canadians to visit restaurants, as menu prices in North America over the past 7 years has surpassed that of Copenhagen's. Something that pleasantly surprised me after visiting Copenhagen in 2022 after a 10 years absence.
Never knew 7 11 shops were that popular in Denmark.
ОтветитьCOCAINEHAVEN
ОтветитьCopenhagen is jsut a let down city , meh city
ОтветитьAgree, been there multiple times and the service is great, but in scandinavia it is sort of rude to be to forward and not leave space for the customer
ОтветитьI am Danish and we love to cycle we find this more healthy but there are many turist who don't understand that our way of cyckling actually means doing our transport. Some turist just walk out in front of people cycling. Happended to me again today in Copenhagen, I belive turist should get fined for not following transport rules like orther laws- also if you rent a cyckle in Copenhagen you're surposed to be able to actually ride it well, otherwise don't. You will be in the way of people living there.
ОтветитьJust updating on some points. Bikes are not just for fun. They are peoples means of transportation, please dont walk on the bike paths you might be run over as people can't stop in time.. Prices can be perceived as high but since waiters makes an actual wage you don't tip and the sales tax is included. Waiters can be perceived as stated in this video but that is because they value your privacy and want you to eat and drink as undisturbed as possible.
ОтветитьIf you ever comes back, i would love to meet you. Have seen so many of your videos 😊 Sofia
ОтветитьAs an American who works in the service industry: I get it, Danes, I get it. :)
ОтветитьWhy do you think it's called 'Little'? You american need EVERY thing big. It's the history that count. And we pay our service people so they can live, and not have to beg and smile (fakeing) every time they serve a meal to get a tip. If service is god, we give them, but they don't have to live of it like in the US. PEOPLE first. ( This, by the way, is an inside tip, all for free)😉
ОтветитьCocaine-hagen? 😂
ОтветитьI guess I can appreciate your pointing out the typical American traveling experience dislikes...Most Americans need to come to grips that traveling isn't about us, its about experiencing other cultures. Also, the dinning experience is great anywhere in Europe, they don't bug you, you are there for an experience, not get in and get out, enjoy your food and drinks and take your time.
ОтветитьShe is called The Little Mermaid for a reason. No reason to be disappointed.
ОтветитьIt is the same in the Netherlands customers are not king. We are pride of it ❤😂
Ответитьi am currently in Denmark. we went to odense and copenhagen. the people are very nice and the service aswell.
ОтветитьThe service thing might be that you aren’t the most important thing in their lives. Travel has shown me that only Americans think they are and their service is basically intrusive
Ответить
