EA Completely Changed the Recruiting Gem System in College Football 25 Dynasty

You have to recruit for abilities too. You can’t just rely on dev traits. If they have a trait you want you recruit that player regardless.

I still recruit some busts and alot of normies just because I need players who make it to their junior and senior year.

alot of the time I find myself with too little upperclassmen depth because my 4 and 5 star gem players have all gone pro after their redshirt sophomore/true junior year. While I'd never use them at qb, these 4 and 5 star busts usually end up being solid rotational fillers for me at a variety of positions.

I did a clemson team lastnight and i got a 82 scrambling qb maxed abilities elite dev and a 83 maxed abilities elite Wr. Ive never seen that before

Is it now as simple as the gems represent whether a recruit is at the high, mid or low end of their OVR rating by tier? Where 5-stars represent players with starting ratings, say, between 77-83. 4-star perhaps 75-80. And so on. I’ve not studied this, but if there is now no bearing on dev traits or caps, then gems might just be tied to OVR alone.

I KNEW IT! My last class had absolutely no correlation of dev and gem. Basically no correlation to 4-5 star and dev either

You have to tell them that some players are bad because of archetype or theyre in a bad position i had a green gem safety was a hyrbid safety moved him to middle linebacker because he was 220 now hes the best MLB in my dynasty and been that way since his second year starting i also get the release skill cap ability too because it coukd literally clear all skill caps

Haven't played the game in at least a month. The depth chart system was fucked man. I would change the depth chart in between games and when I get into the game that shit would revert back to before the change. Got tired of fuckin' with it. Did they fix that at all?

Gem or bust to me hasn’t changed. My experience it has always been more correlated to stat cap potential than dev trait.

Does anybody know why I can’t get 4 and 5 star transfers it’s locked like it seems like they have a top 5 before I have access to offer them

I never pass on 5⭐️ bust because of their starting ovr and the recruiting race which only focuses on the players national rank.

I have noticed quite a few Normal Dev Trait players hitting their cap after being redshirted their 1st year. So they end up being better than some of the impact and star dev players during their redshirt freshman year. It feels odd to play them and then they end up on the bench the next 2 or 3 years when the higher dev trait players catch up.

I no longer get the recruiting screen that tells me when people commit between each week. ANY HELP ON HOW TO FIX THIS IS APPRECIATED 🙏🏻

Some of my biggest jumps have came from ‘Impact’ dev trait guys. Some of my slower progressing players have been ‘Star’ or ‘Elite’ dev traits.

It got so annoying that now I’ve taken an excel sheet for my entire roster and I’ve been tracking it for three seasons now. It’s wild.

T4G Sports debunked this a while ago. Gem and Bust are just tied to their starting ratings. They have great ranges on their website that breaks down the “average gem” and the ratings range for 3 and 4 star gems.

Is there anyway to slow down the kicking meter. I'm older and my eyes aren't so good anymore. I looked in the accessibility menu but I can't find anything.

I keep getting beat over the middle even when using cover 3 sky with cover shell 2 or running cover 4 quarter or palms cover 0 shell. Tired of being beat in the middle. How do I fix this. Please make a video on this please.

if they are capped I just move them around so the points get used then move them back. It works mostly for wr and RBs. Be careful not to turn your elusive RB into a pass catching back though. No negative impact on wr going to rb though. Also works for MLB and OLB. Sometimes I’ll find like 60 points on a player who mused and I’ll move them to RB and they’ll turn into a 99

How do you pick the best coordinators after other schools poach them?

The amount of times I’ve done everything I could to get a gem and they just sucked more than the other players, thank you for this cuz it’s always such a battle to get the gems anyways

My strategy has always been 5 stars the 1st few weeks green get more time than red and as they get their visits scheduled start adding in 5 and 4 stars that I can will until all the 5 stars are gone then start mixing in the rest of the 4 stars I haven't had a class under top 3 since my 1st season but my coach is maxed out recruiter as well

I'm having fun with tier 2 architect so if they don't keep improving they can hit the portal far as I'm concerned

for what its worth, I am on season 3 of a dynasty i started right about the same time this video dropped. I hadnt watched this video, but it is making me think there is something to it. I am western michigan and pretty much the best i can do is loading up on gem 3 stars. after 3 recruiting cycles these are my results:

N - 0 (0%)
I - 39 (60%)
S -21 (32%)
E -5 (8%)


In 3 season, I have 65 commits, all 65 have been green gem, and 60% have been impact dev... that seems like some form of nurfing took place.

i dont even scout, seems like a waste of time to me

High rated busts are still great players that just don’t progress much.

Do we need to restart dynasty modes to enact these updates to recruiting? We started first week game was out.
