is anything ever normal? it could be me. but certain things happen to me that doesn't happen to others. Makes me question. Is my situation normal? Am i odd?.......I juat stop thinking and go with the flow. Which meant i dont go nuts to buy tp. I just make it my "norm" to leave and travel not during the public holiday. and to shop when there is less people. life goes on.

The Australian government should scare you lot. I have been tracking all 50 of our states, as well as 30 of the most high-profile nations in the world. Australia and New Zealand have been the gold standard since the start of the pandemic, though I favour your country simply because it’s so much more massive and has 5 times as many ppl as New Zealand. For a little perspective as to just how ridiculously low your case numbers have been, here are some stats from my AUS worksheet.

From 29 Feb 2020 to 15 Dec 2021, 21.5 months or 655 days:
Total reported: 236,562 cases
Highest single day: 2,797 cases
# of days w/2,500+ cases: 5 [0.76% of all days were above 2,500 cases]

In the same time frame, my state had the lowest numbers in the USA…per capita.
Total reported: 90,270 cases
Highest single day: 1,678 cases
# of days w/1,000 cases: 4

But don’t forget Australia has 18.25 times as many ppl as Hawai’i…26M vs. 1.4M.
So while our cases per 1M ppl was at 63,800…the lowest of all 50 states…
Australia’s figure was 9,060! Of 1,000,000 people…only 9,060 were catching the virus! That’s 0.906%! So the other 99.094% of people were perfectly fine.

The numbers are even more minute prior to the delta-variant. Here in Hawai’i, the original alpha-phase ran from 29 Feb 2020 to 29 Jul 2021 (17 mos or 517 days)…while the delta-phase ran from 30 Jul 2021 to 15 Dec 2021 (4.5 mos or 140 days)…and the omicron-phase started 16 Dec 2021 and 21 Jan 2022 was day 36. Just like Australia, our numbers in Hawai’i made a dramatic spike on 16 Dec 2021…remember, you folks had never had >2,800 cases/day. Then since 16 Dec 2021, this is what you lot saw:

The last week your numbers have dropped off considerably. But even when you hit 153,968 cases on 13 Jan 2022, there was no need for alarm…all your government had to do was look at the numbers! For over a year, we have all seen that when there’s a spike in cases, there’s a corresponding spike in deaths 2-3 weeks later. HOWEVER, we are now in week 5 of omicron, and we’re not seeing a spike in deaths… and NO, 93 deaths on 21 Jan 2022 is NOT a spike (2 weeks ago 75,000-100,000 cases were being reported daily…and 93 of them died.)

It should be glaringly obvious as to what’s tempering this virus, and the most severe variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus with an R₀ that may be as high as measles…but I’m sure anti-vaxxers like Toe Rogan will come up with some bizarre spin. Regardless, numbers are finite and people in the Australian government should be analyzing your stats and coming up with a game plan to do away with your unnecessary and extreme restrictions. The longer they take, the more damage they’re doing to Aussies…humans are social creatures (which is why some prisons have deemed solitary confinement to be inhumane treatment), with Aussies being on the high end of the spectrum. So keeping y’all locked down and isolated from one another WILL have long-lasting effects and that worries me. In Hawai’i, we’re very much like Aussies, we’re very sociable, look out for each other, always taking a piss and enjoying banter with out mates, and we’re not easily offended.

Sorry this is so long but I just had to say something ‘cause it’s just not right how your gov’t has been treating its citizens…the ppl they’re supposed to be serving and protecting. And there's no reason a bloke from Hawai’i should be able to analyze the Australian COVID statistics better than the Australian government…and even with the omicron spike, the Australian statistics are still some of the best in the world.

Fortunately, in the US states have rights outside the purview of the federal government, and we have a Constitution that protects us, for the most part. States and cities run by Democrats are still mandating masks, vaccines, vaccine passports, but Republican ran states aren't doing that. I live in Texas, and I have lived my life as I always have, not doing anything that I didn't believe was necessary for myself... no mask, I didn't social distance, I continued to work the whole time, I'm not vaccinated and since this all started I haven't been sick. People in power used covid to usurp power and take away freedoms all across western civilization, and once those rights are taken, they will be very hard to get back. It's a bunch of lunacy and corruptness by greedy, power-hungry , wicked parasites.

Fuck the vax. I'm still not putting that experimental sludge into my system no matter how much covid hysteria gets spread around.

I'm a nurse and i agree with this.

My prayers have been with you guys down there for almost the entire two years now, the way you've been controlled by your own government (worse then the rest of the world at least) has been terrifying to watch. So much information has been kept from people, especially in western societies, but you guys seem to have gotten it the hardest. Im glad at least you can watch things like Joe Rogan and at least see parts of the discussion, but the "questioning" has been more then just him and for longer now. For instance, there has been evidence for awhile now that although still attempted to be kept from us here in the US, has been more available then I guess you guys have had, that yes the numbers have been padded, and finally our CDC admitted that at least 96% of our "deaths" were people who just tested positive but were actually caused by other factor. Even car crashers and terminally ill cancer patients were labeled "covid death" if they tested positive for it. Theres so much more then that example of things that should make every person really question what's been going on and what they've been told the past few years, and I just continue to pray that more and more people continue to "wake up" to the propaganda and manipulation and take back ALL their rights that have been taken. A huge moral crime has been committed against humanity, and it was done knowingly not accidentally by "the powers that be". People need to stop with the fear, and start thinking and questioning things again. and remember, only liars are afraid of discussions and questioning, truth does not try to censor people.

ps - do what you feel you need to do for yourself, but my personal experience (as well as many others speaking up online, or trying to) is that all the unjabbed people, myself included, either have not gotten sick at all or have gotten an extremely short and mild cold-like symptoms that lasted about 1-2 days. Everyone I know who has gotten more severe cases, including anything that was longer then 2 days, are people who have been jabbed. thousands of doctors world-wide (yet silenced) have been warning for awhile now about something called A.D.E. Please just look into things a little more before getting any additional jabs please, at least hear out alternate opinions from doctors then the ones from corporate media.

Don't get another vaccine or they will close in harder

The death rate in Australia has exploded since Omicron hit. The people saying it's not a big deal because it's only hitting the old and sick are effectively arguing for a Eugenics policy.

Personally i dont care if someone has had a vaccine, i only look down at those that do get infected and subject others to that infection, if youre sick stay home and get well before going back to work, school or other public places where you might spread viruses to other people. Yes yes asymptomatic carriers cant practically know they are sick, im talking about those that know they are feeling unwell but insist on doing whatever they want and in doing so put others at risk, instead of staying home to recover.

The worst thing is if youre sick and you pass it onto someone whose body cant cope and they die or are left with life long health issues, because you couldnt just spend some time at home. Getting a vaccine is of little consequence if someone does not have the self control to isolate themself for a short period if or when they get sick.

I'm for always being cautious, especially if you live in an area where people just don't care about being cautious or even get vaccinated. I've been vaccinated three times but I still wear a mask outside because I still can't know what will happen to my body if I get infected, even if I don't die there's no guarantee I'll have it easy (especially when I'm a heavier person). I don't want to end up with damaged lungs. Maybe I DID have Covid and didn't realize it, that's also a possibility. But there's no guarantee that other people I might infect will have it easy either. Mortality rate is still high in where I live because some people care so little, and the government has completely given up on precautions.

I understand there's forcefulness and fearmongering surrounding the issue, like it's really bad and needs to stop. But I just can't help but worry that we'll never be able to eradicate this disease if there's not a good effort in being cautious and considerate of one another. For this reason I just can't deal with anti-vaxxers, frankly your freedom ends where somebody else's starts. There are still a lot of people at risk even though the new variant is less deadly, you don't want to be responsible for someone else dying because of your carelessness. We're in this together after all.

im pretty sure i got covid, idk if it was that or the flu tho. because i got all the symptoms, but it lasted 3 days, and felt like a mild flu. i have a strong immune system and i didnt get the shot so i think i got corona, but idk. i honestly dont see what the big deal is, unless im special
