My fiance and I loved watching off grid videos and talking about them. We came to your channel through the algorithm. He passed away in 2022. It took a few months to come back and watch after. A year to the day of his transition, my nephew was born. I appreciate the real life of this life. The growth of you individually and together, the littles, the plants, the growth of your shelters, etc. There is no such thing as b*tch work. It is the tedious workings. You all have conquered so many hurdles life has thrown. Thank you for the windows into your lives, and worlds, and for the labor it takes to be a creator also. 🥰

Greetings from Ukraine 🌞 I am inspired by your successes and your way of thinking and life. Keep it up guys, the only thing do not forget is that the main thing in the human form of life is when the soul appears in it and what distinguishes us from animals that, just like us, sleep, eat, reproduce and defend themselves is to think about why the Almighty created our form of human life ...? I have come to the conclusion for myself to know: 1) the material world is essentially the external energy of the Lord; 2) to know the relationship with the Lord in the form of their own kind, in every living being there is a soul and a particle of the Lord Paramatma that controls the body in accordance with our karma, dharma; 3) to build a relationship with the Lord as a loving Father, friend, teacher; and ultimately break out of the circle of birth, growing up, changing, withering and death. Regarding the weasel or ferret (if I understood correctly which of the small predators we are talking about), they have natural predators, of which there are quite a lot, which can be used against them, one of them is large owls (for example, an eagle owl, a tawny owl), in our country they are used to hunt mice and rats in hangars for storing grain, they can be tamed (or bought already tamed) and trained to catch these animals. A dog can resist a weasel or ferret. Dogs are especially effective breeds originally bred to guard livestock, for example, the Anatolian Shepherd, the Pyrenean Mountain Dog, the Maremma Shepherd. They are large, strong and have a strong guard instinct. Even smaller, but vigilant and territorial dogs (for example, some terriers) can scare off or even catch a weasel or ferret. Important: The dog must be well trained and have experience interacting with poultry, so as not to pose a threat to chickens. Geese: Although not predators, geese are known for their aggressive behavior and loud calls when strangers or threats are present. Their presence and noise may deter small predators, but they are unlikely to physically stop a weasel or ferret. The Most Reliable Defense
While pets can help, the most reliable defense for chickens against ferrets and weasels is a physical barrier:
* A secure coop: Make sure the coop is built of sturdy materials and has no cracks or holes that small predators can squeeze through. A weasel can squeeze through a very small hole (about the size of a thumb).
* Sturdy mesh: Use fine-mesh, heavy-duty metal mesh (such as welded or galvanized) that is buried deep in the ground around the perimeter to prevent predators from digging under.
* Locking at night: Always lock your chickens in the coop at night. Another interesting fact is that domesticated weasels and harries can be used to hunt wild hares; they are released into the Norv 🌞 Regarding the consumption of meat, poultry, eggs, fish, and the bodies of other creatures, here are some approaches and ideas based on various spiritual and philosophical views:
Mindfulness and Gratitude
Many traditions agree that mindfulness and gratitude can significantly change the energy of an action:
* Gratitude: Before eating, one can sincerely thank the animal for its life, which now supports the life of the one who eats. This can be a short prayer, meditation, or simply an inner feeling of gratitude. The goal is to acknowledge the sacrifice and express respect.
* Mindful Consumption: Instead of simply eating without thinking, one can pay attention to the origin of the food, its quality, and how it was obtained. This promotes a deeper connection with the food and reduces "mindless" consumption.
Principles of Ahimsa and Compassion
Many of the teachings are based on the principle of ahimsa (non-violence). While complete abstinence from meat is the ideal for some paths, there are mitigating factors for those who are not ready for this:
* Minimize suffering: Whenever possible, choose products from animals that have been raised humanely, without undue suffering. This could include organic meat, free-range eggs, and sustainably caught fish.
* Support ethical production: Purchasing such products supports farmers and suppliers who care about animal welfare, which in turn can be seen as a contribution to reducing suffering overall.

Ответить
@dmitiymirny8242
@dmitiymirny8242 - 30.05.2025 13:32

* Moderation: Consciously reducing meat consumption, such as once or twice a week, or increasing the proportion of plant foods, can also be a step toward reducing the karmic footprint.
Practices and Rituals
While specific "leveling rituals" may vary, general principles include:
* Prayers and Mantras: Some traditions have special prayers or mantras that are recited before meals to cleanse the food of negative energy or to express gratitude. For example, in Buddhism there are practices of offering food to the Buddha or bodhisattvas, which transforms its karmic meaning.
* Dedication of merit: In Buddhism and Hinduism, the practice of dedicating merit is common. This means that the good deeds a person does (e.g. helping others, meditating, praying) are dedicated not to themselves, but to all living beings, including those whose lives they support through food. In this way, the positive energy from their actions is directed to "cleanse" negative karma.
* Charity and Dana (Giving): Actively engaging in charity, especially charity that helps living beings (e.g. donations to animal shelters, support for environmental programs), can be seen as a counterbalance to negative karma. Giving (dana) is considered one of the most important ways to accumulate positive karma.
* Meditation and Compassion: Developing loving-kindness (metta) meditation or compassion for oneself and all beings helps change one's inner state and attitude towards the world, which in itself can reduce attachment to selfish desires and, as a result, weaken the formation of negative karma.
Important nuance
It is important to understand that karma is not simply a "count" of good and bad deeds. It is rather the law of cause and effect, where every action, thought and word, done with a certain intention, creates corresponding consequences. Intention plays a key role. If eating meat is done without malice, with gratitude and awareness, it is karmically different from a thoughtless or cruel act. The main thing is a sincere desire to reduce suffering and develop compassion 🙏

Use hardware cloth(small squared wire) have the floor secured with the wire so nothing can get in when they dig under. The entire coop will need the wire completely covered. I just heard you say you are going to do what I was just saying so never mind Jake. You don’t need us bud, you got this.

@OffGridLife Jake, when you say that you would be back in your boat and have a fish cleaning station they're next to the greenhouse, would you not then be inviting predators? It seems like the smell of fish carries in the wind and will attract bears, wolves and cougars.
