love this series! the school is very interesting and i gotta definetely check the berliner turnschule out!
ОтветитьGreat series, and discussions.
Seems it is worth a visit to the twerachhau on Monday.
This reminds me of schlagen. Similar to single-stick & backsword when I learned it as a child as a historical rule set. Then I was able to experience in high-school & again in university when I studied abroad in Germany. Its mainly a fraternity tradition & those frat houses are very exclusive. Usually the sabres only have about an inch of sharpen blabe because its a duel to first blood. The refs & seconds are usually professors & military officers the medic was a military surgeon from the medical corp. I also had experience in olympic & historical sabre in fencing Belgium and Netherlands.
ОтветитьGreat lecture, thank you! In a lot of ways reminds me of George Silver, and with how I sort of fence saber already; super interesting!
ОтветитьWhat some of the common characteristics of German cut fencing?
I mean Berlier gets discussed here but what common elements are there between the various schools in this region (Feh , Feldmann,Berliner, etc)?
Fantastic talk, thanks very much. Is there any sparring footage of this system in action you could point to? I’d love to see it working dynamically.
ОтветитьGreat talk! I think the most outstanding quote is "It's totally historic to hit the gym!" 😁
ОтветитьThank you so much for this! Such an interesting system!! I'm now focusing this as my main Sabre style 😁🤟 let's see how the rest of the Brits like it 😉
