How I Became a Travel Writer

I've been National Geographic Traveler's Digital Nomad and Lonely Planet's US Travel Editor. I wrote a couple dozen guidebooks to places like New York City, Colombia and Trans-Siberian Railway. My articles have appeared in the New York Times, USA Today, BBC and CNN. And here is how the whole thing started.
