Snowboarding in Argentina - This Place is Amazing

Kev, so nice to visit our country. Have Fun Man. Next week I´ll be in cerro Chapelco. i´ll be Driving 18hs from my hometown to there. Another fun place to snowboard in Argentina.

I'm literally in Bariloche right now, and have been going to Cerro Catedral all week. Unfortunately, with higher temps and no fresh snow for a couple of weeks, conditions aren't great here right now. No snow at the base, icy groomers at the top, plenty of closed runs in the lower mountain, and hard off piste. The place would be amazing after a storm, though.

I’m heading to Argentina, from Hawaii, in 2 weeks to ride Las Leñas. I got a condo ski in ski out 500ft from the lift. Lived in South America, in Chile, rode Valle Nevada several times. I first heard about Argentina in 2000 when I worked at Squaw Valley in Tahoe. There was this beautiful girl named Mercedes that was part of a ski exchange program that worked lift ops. I was P-lot. But I didn’t know they made girls that beautiful till I saw her. Argentina?? What’s this Argentina I thought to my then 18 year old self. Ever since I lived in Chile I’ve been wanting to ride in Argentina. Despite having been to Argentina some 40 times, I never rode there. That’s about to change in 2 weeks after planting the seeds for it some 20 years ago. I’m excited. Any reports about what the ski season has been like? Is there lots of snow? Is it feeling like spring season riding yet? Las Leñas is further north so I’m wondering what the weathers been like, overall for skiing in Argentina this year. Any advice? Though I’ve been many times, I know things change rapidly on the ground in Argentina. Are ATMs still limited to $100usd equivalent daily with a $10usd withdrawal fee? That was the case in 2017! Do you know if they’re taking dollars everywhere or only at exchange houses? How are the prices? I’ve been when steak dinners are $3usd and when they were $100usd. Thanks for sharing. ✌️✌️🤙🤙

It’s way better than Chile great red wine and steak 🥩 🍷 just take USA dollars and trade them and it’s half the price, when I was in Bariloche $40 Australian max you could draw out of a bank and the transaction was $15 hard to believe so take cash 💴 the people are great and speak English well in Chile they are just not interested in the tourist at all that place was a nightmare

If you think that snowboarding in Argentina is good, it's because you don't know Chile, it has the largest and best centers in all of South America and the southern hemisphere.
