I work construction and trade from my phone in the porta potty. My whole work crew has known for a long time that I am a day trader and has actually covered for me if the owner comes on site and I am in the john. You have to do what you have to do in the beginning. But I live and breath the markets. This is what I am meant to do and one day I will be able to have a big enough portfolio to trade full time.

Working full time and trying to trade honestly feels like the day job that's paying the bills is in the way of actually trading better it really is just a distraction

it is depending though where you are in the world. in some places it will be harder to combine both full time and trading when market is opening at 3:30pm. possible but harder

my biggest question is how much money do you need to trade with to make 500 a day and how much is needed to 5k a day

I drive for Uber and I also do trading. I just do it while I'm on breaks. I also have a lawn care buisnesses.. I became a millionare at 36 with a paid off house and cars.
I only work 4 days a week.

Paper trading while working would be wise. Easyer to discard if need. Build disapline and train to get used to the rules.

I want to learn to trade, but Im in the military and I work a rotating shift schedule every 2 months. (Days/Swings/Mids) so Im not sure how the hell I would be able to make it work with how inflexible and everchanging my work schedule is. I still have 4 years left but I dont want to wait that long to start. Any advice for someone in my position?

Do not quit your job to become full time trader. Why? Because no profitable trading, no income.

Just can't help but feel that the majority of these traders here are exaggerating or outright lying about their Trading successes.

This is why i love trading

I am facing a similar situation but I'm not overly successful at trading yet. I can relate to the second person who spoke, the only difference is I can't trade while working. I plan to refine my trading strategy over the next three months and in January put in for a leave until mid March. That will give me 2 and half months to put my trading strategy to the test. I get that time off with pay but I lose 20% of my pay for the rest of the year to make up for being paid during the time off. They call it the 80/20 leave. I just pieced together a really nice trading station and I have to take the plunge a some point. Not happy that I have to work another year when I want to be home everyday but if I quit outright that will be to risky. I have been patient with this entire process over the last year and a half. I just have to stay on course and not get frustrated with my situation, I know the year will pass quickly. This was a great video and it's nice to hear the stories of others who were once in my situation.

Currently wanting to quit my job, I am going to start trading in early morning from 6-8am, then hop back on from 9:30AM-10:30AM. My job is now going back in office every day while I start doing this so a bit bummed but I know I can within a few months be at pace with my job or earning more

I was up $554, $732 and $1,100 the last 3 days. Gave it all back all 3 days for losses. I only have been swing trading for about a week. I have learned my lesson. Take my Profits and stick to the system. Do not break the rules of the system!
