Ответитьnot bad for a group of hippies from the Midlands.....there must've been something in the water in England in the mid-late 80s-early 90s: Cathedral, Carcass, Napalm Death, Godflesh......beautiful, beautiful stuff!

ОтветитьThis song came out in '93 during what you might say was the height of the death metal years. I tend to think of '95 or '96 as the highwater mark of death metal after which the scene really started to change and go in a new direction. But leading up to '93 everyone was making brutal death metal, grindcore, and black metal: Cannibal Corpse, Sinister, Obituary, Malevolent Creation, Brutality, Suffocation, Deicide, Marduk, Mortician, Hypocrisy, and so many others. So, when The Ethereal Mirror came out - featuring none other than grindcore royalty Lee Dorian - it really stood out. This song kicked my ass. I never would've expected psychedelic doom metal to be so heavy. But that opening riff after the intro is world-shattering, just off-the-charts heavy. Will always be one of the best metal songs of the time.
ОтветитьDemais! Essa música tem o poder de me tirar da depressão. 2023🇧🇷
ОтветитьStill one of my favorite albums ever 🤘❤️🤘
ОтветитьIt does me no end of good to contemplate how 5 ordinary dudes with no magical powers can create music this fucking heavy. There is hope for us all. In a world of disposable geek beats and Justin Bieber's it's nice to know there's a Cathedral forever somewhere. This knowledge will save us. Nothing else will

ОтветитьIt's like, if you took all the best bits from a whole heap of Black Sabbath songs and cranked the amps to 11, you'd have something approximating this masterpiece...doom on people - it doesn't get any better than this.
ОтветитьCathedral's album art is ahead of its time lol, it looks like AI before AI existed xD
All jokes aside, this track is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
It's prog and it just doesn't know it. So, god damn, good. Ugh.
ОтветитьFucking love cathedral what the hell is up with this album cover? What's even happening here?
ОтветитьBring a truck because it’s heavy
ОтветитьAfter over 2 years, i Finally figured out what guitar pedal Gaz used on this record. Its an HM-2! He had it hooked up to a Marshall jcm 800 100w, but i found that it sounds more close to this if i use an Orange cab. Doom On!!
