Unfortunately the cheapest you can buy this table in Australia is AUD$80 (local retailer). Amazon has this table for AUD$92 while ebay has it for AUD$84.

My only concern is the mechanics of the thing. The more moving parts = the greater a chance of said parts breaking, jamming, wearing out. I read how many people say it lasts for years and years and being Japanese and NOT chinese, it should be well-made.

Just wanted to mention that I have both the Soto and The Trekology table, don’t ask why. The Trekology table is a little bigger, is cheaper and comes with a better bag and I prefer it over the Soto. The opening mechanism is the same on both. I cannot vouch for the longevity on the Trekology because I haven’t had it very long but it appears to be well made.

I purchased this product after watching your first video. I found it on sale for a little more than $20 and I have used it extensively. I use it for pretty much the same things as you do but when car camping I put it on top of my cheap plastic table whenever I have electricity to prevent my, cooking source from possibly melting the surface of my table. It's height allows me to store a few things underneath that I would not be able to do with something like directly on the table. I really appreciate your reviews and I take them very seriously and so far I have agreed with everything that I have purchased based on your recommendations.

As an Australian i actually use a fair bit of japanese outdoor items, including the soto amicus stove. I love cheap things from daiso (not sure if its in other countries). I switched to their little storage containers instead of nalgene, i also take their cooking chopsticks that break down as well instead of tongs. They have a great little range of outdoor and bbq items.

If they made a grate with this same design I'd justify carrying it - the ability to cook over the fire with it but also have a flat surface that you praise this for. But just as a table it's too big for most backpacking trips.

So I just went to Amazon to take a look for the table. Whelp no longer 40 price range, went up to 70. Looks like I am buying it from the official Soto site. I think someone from Amazon is subscribed to your channel.and went "oh he reviewed it, price hike time" and yes I am joking and not blaming him for the hike.

My wife has the Soto table. I have the Trekology version. It's a slightly larger version. If I remember right Trekology makes 2 sizes of it. They are both fantastic little tables. Can't say I've noticed any real quality differences between what we have. All your points are great. What I like is it's the perfect height for when I'm sitting in my camp chair. (Helinox Chair Zero) It's just that little bump for putting my drink down or working on that makes it very enjoyable to use. Certainly not a necessity but so nice to have.

I already have the Trekology one (American), which works well, but it's made in China and I can feel that; the mechanism is a bit noisy and its operation is not as "smooth" as it should be
- I will definitely buy SOTO now, thanks for the review!

I have had this table for a year now. Only negative I have with this table is the weight. But at the same time I am not sure if it would work as well it does if it was any lighter. Its stable even if there is wind. It is made of aluminum so you can put hot pans and pots on it. When caught up in bad weather this enables comfortable cooking inside the tent as well.

I did without a little table like this for years. I did not know what I was missing. I now, in later years, have several types of tables. One is a miniature sectioned foldable top with multiple slats that are compact when rolled up and in the bag. Two are from England that have flat tops and foldable legs and I also have this Soto Field Hopper. It turns out, the Soto is the lightest, quickest, smallest folder of all and I keep it with my Firebox gear. It is worth the money.
