Saw JT for the only time on Micah Morris Golf helping him with position at the top for a better swing. Nice collaboration.

Would this arm move (right elbow pulling back at top of backswing) be applied to all clubs?

Hey Eric, I love the videos. Great stuff, but could you possibly think about adding tracers for your shots? Just helps us to see thanks again and keep the videos coming

This explains a lot! At the range yesterday and noticed I was hitting my 3 wood off the deck best when my motion was free and natural.

Any time I was conscious about where I'm at during the back swing, I lose the fluidity, therefore I lose the natural extension at the top of my back swing, resulting in short, blocky shots to the right.

As Einstein often said, simplify simplify. Golf instruction has become insane by breaking down a gestalt into fragments creating paralysis through analysis and failing miserably. The over the top miracle swing takes the club inside and allows what seems natural for millions to work. It was the swing used by most 20th century golfers.

Eric. You have helped me figure out a swing that has been a mess for 20 years. Your ability to explain a concept just…resonates. JT is another amazing guest. I want to thank you for creating content, it has truly made a difference for me. Lots of local lessons that did not work. Videoing my own swing and applying your videos has made my golf buddies poor, jealous broken men. Much luv bro.

I've been trying to feel a lot of timing in footwork. My sequence/trigger has been plant down get the hips and feet going before everything. Watching this drill and working my way feels wrong too early pressure on the trail side causing me to extend my trail leg stopping rotation and getting out ahead of it. This has me feeling more pressure on the front side until p1 then getting the pressure into the trail heel to get turned instead of plant and slide and use all upper body to turn. I was doing what I was aiming for so long but it was wrong. I've started to feel like I actually need to be on the trail side later that way I have something to move. I was way too quick hopefully I explained that well enough. A sense of pressure into my trail heel from p1 to get the turn. I feel stretch get wide then let the hips get me up almost like a toss behind me, gather to transition and explode. Who knew my transition was off because of my first move back. This has me feeling the vertical forces in my legs without over exersion.

This is interesting. I get way to inside and have a tendency to have big hooks. When things are lined up in the swing I can consistently hit 165 to 170 ball speed. I Bel think this is a good thing for me and drills for me. I have been told by instructors before i need to feel like im trying to hit fades. Ends up being high draws.

Thanks Eric for this video. I was getting pretty frustrated with my driver. I was told to always keep my arms tucked in and now I see the trail arm from various videos pull away a bit at the top which feels way more natural. Before I always felt like I was pushing the club, focusing on keeping everything tucked in and not allowing the natural swing. This video truly resonated with me. Thank you.

What's the reason for keeping the left hand off the grip? Why not hold onto the club with both hands during the first part of the rotation drill?

Eric I have a driver question. I hit my 8 iron like 175, but my driver is only like 230 to 240. A guy at the range it hit at sais to me in passing if I ever figure out speed I'll hit it a mile. I didn't know what that meant but researched it and what I found is to swallow out my swing to get less spin. What do you think any help you be greatly appreciated. Thanks BTW love the content I watch them all

Great stuff. Maybe an entirely different video, but how do you avoid "handle dragging"? Or holding on to the grip too long through impact. Just let it go?

The one move I didn't hear you talk about is his squat at the top, and then he uses the ground on the way down and explodes up into the ball for max distance.

Interesting comment about the trail arm not being touching the body. I’ve been trying to keep my trail elbow against my side when I reach the top of the backswing and I’ve been struggling to hit the driver. In fact I’m worse now than when I first started. Now all I can hit is a low hook…I’m almost read to give up and be one of those guys who never uses their driver😢

Before transition from the top to the downswing should you feel the club float at the top / rest at the top before you start the downswing

You’ve got me following Justin Thomas! I will avoid a swing trigger that has me leaning inward with the right knee. I will practice before every shot your suggestion to begin the backswing with the shaft parallel to the ground and the club face turned slightly towards the ground! Great work 😄
