Also take into consideration.. Otaku in Japan is far worse than in the west. We label anyone into anime as "otaku" but that is not really the case.
In Japan, otaku is considered the people obsessed with anime, with figurines, pillows, anti-social behavior, creepy almost incel-like towards real women and only liking anime women.

Most of the guys who like anime in western places getting labeled as otaku would just be normal in Japan since many there watch it casually like normal shows.

This only applies to Japanese. If you are a foreigner then it’s not really viewed as being as creepy by the Japanese. It should be viewed as creepy to have an anime pillow as a foreigner in my opinion but I’ve had friends tell me they don’t really view foreigners as otakus.

Imo as soon as you get into body pillows and stuff thats a lot for me bit too extreme but thats me. Im not gonna judge im just as crazy about manga and anime in my own way. Half my room is stacks of manga and novels and i get figures of my favorite characters a lot. Some might find me extreme its all perspective.

Im impress how resilient people in Japan. I know the economy is really crazy. The middle income is very far from the upper income people. While the lower income household make up almost majority. But heir lower income actually has more money company to other place in southeast asia. It the inflation of houses cost and many thing is crazy

I've been watching anime since I was a kid, I own two succesful companies, have a family and we all watch anime together but are still active. So I don't understand why you can't enjoy anime and still have many other interests in life.

A lot of weeb otakus here are hurt. You have to mature and accept the fact that not everyone is going to match your hobbies. If you know yourself pretty much and you're not insecure about your sense of self-control, then this shouldn't offend you at all.

I can be, all things considered, a NEET. I understand there are women who'd find me a loser or creepy, and while I can understand why for their POV why this may be the case, I also understand that we simply wouldn't vibe. I also know myself pretty well to understand that no matter how much I want the girl, if she can't be pried open to try and explore the reason I am the way I am, then it simply wouldn't work as she's not mature enough to be willing to do so.

My point here is that overall, accepting that some people wouldn't like you is a state of maturity. First of course, you need to allow being openminded about that fact, and from there, you can explore other viable options. Notice how the younger girls are more often prone to ride the stigma bandwagon, but as they mature, they are less prone to it.

Don't force yourself on a pretty, cute girl that is narrowminded and shuns your hobbies and POV. You can try opening them up and convincing them, but expect that it may not work, and then move on. 'Cos if you force the relationship, you'll find that you'll not only hurt yourself, but also hinder the girl's growth.

Nothing is more painful than realizing you're 30 years old but think like a 20-yr-old because you were stuck in making an incompatible relationship work for 10 years.
