Where do you want to go with this project? You have a list or smth? I've just done the enter and exit car system with the vehicle sample pack and some combo combat..

Very well explained! This is still my biggest issue with retargeting. Most animation packs on the marketplace are made for the default Manny/Quinn mesh. So they look great on the default mesh but as soon as you have a custom character or clothing piece (even if they claim it uses the same skeleton) it often looks really off because the new mesh deforms in a different way with the same animation. Still don't really know how to solve this...
