▸ Why use a halation plugin?
Provides visual authenticity (film look) Accurately simulates a real optical defect in chemical film. Makes digital images look less clinical and more organic.

▸ What is the halation effect?
In traditional chemical filmmaking, highlights (especially intense light sources) caused a slight red or orange "bleed" around the brightest edges. This phenomenon, known as halation, was caused by the physical structure of the photographic emulsion and the way light dispersed on celluloid.

▸ Halofilm Controls

- Color:
Allows you to choose the halation tone. From classic warm reds to more stylized tones (orange, pink, amber), tailoring the effect to your desired style.

- Intensity:
Adjusts the strength of halation and blooming in the image. Ideal for defining whether the effect should be subtle or prominent.

- Push/Pull:
Advanced Diffusion Control:

To the right (Pull) expands the light, simulating a diffuse glow, ideal for a dreamlike or atmospheric look.

To the left (Push) the red halos are outlined

- Mix:
Controls the overall opacity of the effect. Allows you to blend the result with the original image for a natural and balanced finish.
