I'm from Canada and this year for Thanksgiving, it was just my son (21) and I. He wanted to make dinner. He asked if he could change our traditions. I said go for it, be creative. Start a new tradition. He succeeded. He made Thanksgiving poutine . He started with crispy sweet potato fries topped them with ground turkey, stove top stuffing, cranberry sauce, piping hot gravy over all finished with shredded mozzarella that got all melty. (We didn't have any cheese curds) it was amazing. Also quick, easy and inexpensive. 😊❤

Tip for soups with pasta if you know there will be leftovers: cook and keep the pasta separately. Add pasta to individual portions when serving. No more mushy pasta!

I finally ate green bean casserole that was excellent! Normally I hate it! Ours was catered and worth every penny!

Our Thanksgiving meal consisted of 2 smoked turkeys, greenbean casserole, cornbread, yeast rolls, sweet potatoes and marshmallows, mashed potatoes, gravy, oyster dressing ( puke. Smells so nasty. But it's my oldest favorite dish.) Pumpkin cheesecake, cherry pie, pecan pie, lemon meringue pie, oreo cream pie. My favorite favorites was turkey, sweet potatoes, cherry pi and lemon meringue. Happy Thanksgiving to you too. Great video.

It's so good for Eleanor to see her mom putting furniture together. When you do that, it gives her confidence in the future to tackle what my generation calls "non-traditional" chores. My niece watched my sister use a drill, figure out how to put things together, and then grew up herself to put a roof on their backyard tool shed.
