I love this , short and sweet with good idea "When and Why"
ОтветитьI'm not watching this right now, but I saw the title and remembered that Joshua has previously called himself a "jacket slut."
Ответить" Minimalism is not about living with 0, living with nothing or going without - is about understanding what's appropriate for me" - Josh I love how this episode is not about the Marie kondo way of minimising the wardrobe through colours and folding in cylinders - this was truly enlightening for someone who constantly donates half her wardrobe away but there's still clutter in the way. Love the prompt questions, I need to do another purge - Ryan dissing Josh is GOLD.
ОтветитьI think it comes from not having money for clothes as a teen. The first thing I did after getting a job washing dishes was to fill up my closet....
ОтветитьI don't like having stuff but I do love the gentlemen style and I have a lot of pieces of high quality that will last me a life time and I enjoy wearing it all.
Ответитьgetting rid of clothes is one of the hardest things I do. Usually when i get rid of them it's because they are tattered and worn and my wife is like will you get rid of this dam thing already. lol ... yeah I am bad with that.
Ответитьas far as jackets go, I have one that I wear everyday during winter...1 for skiing and a nicer pea coat that I wear to nicer outings in the colder months. That's it.
ОтветитьSo good. Of course, now I need to clean my closet. 😳
ОтветитьWe were cleaning out my late cousin's closet and we found clothes in bags with tags. We got rid of all of them.
ОтветитьIt's so crazy seeing t.k in a t shirt and not a polo 😂
ОтветитьAfter many years of wanting to, I finally broke down and treated myself to some nice hangers for my closet. Now those nice hangers are my "container." That's exactly how many clothes I want to own, so one in and one out. If only people would get that less is definitely so much better, for all categories of our belongings.
Ответить❤
ОтветитьI'd just love to hang out with you guys and Dave Ramsey 😁
ОтветитьI'd two jackets and i donated both...now i donno what to do 😂😂
I now own 25 to 30% clothing items 💃💃
I don't have a huge closet full of clothes and I have only clothes that can be washed together - black, blue and gray. But I have enough clothes for every kind of temperature range that can fill one load of laundry for my relatively small washing machine plus maybe 3 pieces extra. I don't see the point in wasting money and time to run a half empty machine more often just because I could get by with fewer clothes.
ОтветитьIf I got rid of half, I'd have one coat, half of a sweatshirt, 4 shirts, 1 1/2 pairs of pants, one skirt, and one pair of shoes. Which, actually, is probably all I need to wear anyway.
ОтветитьThe soy face thumbnails really turn me off to what is otherwise good content.
ОтветитьJacket Slut! I can totally relate!
ОтветитьThank you! ❤
ОтветитьI love you guys, you have changed my whole approach to life! No more waste. Keep inspiring us all xoxo
Ответитьwhich jackets remain??
Ответить🙋🏻♀️Eight jacket girl over here…lol 😂 and yes I can donate two for sure and I’m sure two cardigans 🧥 and some pants … lol 😊
Ответитьfor a minimalist you have 3 names
ОтветитьShopping was a pastime for me, so I ended up with a lifetime of clothes, really. I wear pants I bought in 2007 because I barely wore them until now.
ОтветитьI got rid of over 50% of my clothes. Im still weeding stuff out. Im enjoying yhe reduced sized wardrobe.
ОтветитьRight now we’re preparing to retire our winter clothes for the season, and get out our summer stuff so we have more clothes than usual out. I allowed it to back up a bit and when I finally went to do laundry, I went through my drawers and noted what was unused. Turns out they are typically always unused, so I took them all out. It was a really fast easy way of purging things I know right away that I am not wearing and enjoying.
Ответить我從上百件衣服淘汰掉只剩下30幾件衣服感覺每天要出門時變得超輕鬆
要穿什麼衣服一拿就走,不會浪費時間~~^^
There is a huge overconsumption of clothing (and accessories) which not only pollute our closets and cluttered minds, but the landfills. The textile industry is a huge contributor to waste around the world, not only at the end of the line, but in production. Thank you for the nudge to be mindful of all of this. When I moved a few years ago, I got rid of almost all of my clothing and everything I owned fit in my car. These past few years, the stuff has started to creep back in. I needed this video; it was like a cold glass of water in my face. Thank you!
ОтветитьEasiest for who….not me.
ОтветитьMy vintage clothing is from my past for my future
ОтветитьTK slapping down some hard knowledge on relationships.
ОтветитьI am working on selling half of my clothes or more but its to put that money into a handful of replacement pieces I'll use. I'd feel a lot lighter.
ОтветитьI go through my stuff weekly and I'm always able to find clothes to get rid of.
Ответить"You don't want to compromise your life by living in a space between a future that you're not willing to commit to and a past that no longer serves you." TK is spot on (as usual) 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
ОтветитьIn Texas you can have all 4 seasons in one day. You never know how to dress hour to hour so that’s why I have multiple articles of clothing.
ОтветитьWell, I watched this video. I went to the closet and counted 7 jackets. I thought back to when was the last time that I had worn each. I had 3 that I could not recall the last time that I had worn them. These 3 jackets were taken to Good Will today. Thanks Guys!
ОтветитьI just get rid of clothes every time I do laundry. If I'm not genuinely happy/relieved that an item is clean and ready to wear, I get rid of it.
ОтветитьThis is what helped me. I thought about my week and gave each day a uniform. (Cold weather climate)
I need 5 sleep items
I need 5 casual outfits for the week
I need about 2 “going out” outfits
One cold weather coat
One cool weather jacket
Boots, sandals , sneakers and one pair of “going out shoes”
So simple and easy! I do laundry once a week. :)
If I had to get rid of all my jackets and start over, I would just buy a 3-in-1 jacket and one dressy jacket.
ОтветитьHere's my dream: living where I'd require no clothing items heavier than my 2 jean jackets 😊
Ответить👍
ОтветитьOMG. I did a blog in 2010 and self published the entirety in Can Gilena Wear it All? Well. I did. And I took a photo of my clothes everyday for 266 days. That’s right. It took me two hundred and sixty six days to wear it all. I agree we have way too many clothes. The freeing sensation in curating my wardrobe, and not passing by everything I didn’t want to wear remains priceless. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🇬🇧
ОтветитьReally like this one, short and making so much sense. I wished, I had found the Tiktok video , it represent me so much with my struggle to let go clothes even if I don't own a lot but still forcing myself to wear some just because I can't let it go...
ОтветитьI love clothes so much. It's the feeling they give me - if I look nice, I feel good .
ОтветитьI find clothes the hardest to part with
Anything else I can sort out easily
I have one Carhartt, one down puffer, and one Sherpa lined dockers jacket and I’m happy lol
ОтветитьI completely agree. For a pretty good-looking guy, I had shit clothes when I was in high school and college. First thing I did was start building a wardrobe. I always promised myself I'd have space for options since I didn't have them before.
ОтветитьWhat would happen if you got rid of half your clothes today?
