Love this rum worm hole we’re going down!
ОтветитьSkip all the blah blah talky stuff 😂
ОтветитьThese Daiquiri variations all look and sound spectacular and so delicious Leondro! A couple really stand out as cocktails that I need to try right away! Very interesting to learn about Hemmingway's hemachromotosis. I didn't know Hemmingway suffered from that disease. That condition and Diabetes should have kept Hemmingway away from alcohol. That wouldn't have helped his health at all. Yikes. You are so superb at making cocktails! Love them! Thanks so much Leondro!! Cheers!! 🙂
ОтветитьConstantly crushing it, Leandro! Best cocktail channel in the game!
ОтветитьGreat riffs on a classic like the daiquiri is always appreciated.
Ответитьyou should really try the 'Dry Daiquiri' One of my favorites;
1.25oz White Rum
.25oz Campari
.5oz Lime Juice
.5oz Simple Syrup
1 dash of Passion Fruit Syrup
Garnish with flamed orange twist
I counted 76 stirs on that stirred daiquiri
ОтветитьI was not aware that Hemingway had hemochromatosis.. One more thing we have in common. Cool vid.
ОтветитьGreat video! A great variation I've been making is a Pineapple Daiquiri with 2 oz. Plantation Pineapple Rum, 1 oz. Lime Juice and 3/4 oz. Simple syrup. Great summer cocktail!
ОтветитьThere's no recipe for the stirred daiquiri in the description.
ОтветитьLEANDRO!!! I love a good Daq, so this is perfect!!! I need to try a gin version. That def sounds fun!!!! Great video!!! CHEERS!!!
ОтветитьHey Leandro, for the stirred daiquiri I didn't have the Lo-Fi sweet vermouth (as might have been expected) and tried subbing it with a 50/50 split of Antica Formula and Dolin Blanc. I rather liked the result but don't know whether I'm enough in the ballpark with my substitution to know if I'm really tasting the drink properly. Thoughts?
ОтветитьHoly shit, have you ever tried the Benjamin Barker daiquiri from the Death & Co. book? That one's pretty fantastic. Very interesting implementing Campari into a daiquiri.
ОтветитьNo queens park super cocktail???
ОтветитьLooks tasty! My 2cents, if you don't like maraschino liquor, and I am one, use 2 dashes of angostura bitters.
ОтветитьLeandro, These all look great form the rums to the ratios. The recipes each have something special about them.
ОтветитьMy favorites are the:
Mister Curtis:
1 1/4 oz El Dorado 12
3/4 oz Plantation OFTD
1 oz chai syrup
3/4 oz lime juice
shake, strain over small ice sphere in 6oz wine glass, garnish with lime twist
Barbados Cocktail:
1 1/2 oz dark rum
1 oz velvet falernum
3/4 oz lime juice
shake, strain into coupe
Cienfuegos Shake:
gently muddle 8 mint leaves in 3/4 oz simple syrup and let sit for 5 mins minimum, then add:
2 oz El Dorado 12 or 15
1/2 oz Benedictine
1 oz lime juice
shake, double strain into coupe
Enjoy guys! You won't be disappointed!
Did the description leave out the stirred daquiri?
ОтветитьPerfect timing for Daiquiri recipes, I just got more Plantation Rum!
ОтветитьGreat vid. One of my fave Daqs is the Royal Daquiri, which I got from this channel so thanks very much! 2oz rum (I use Havana Club 3yr or Appleton Estate signature if I'm feeling funky), 1oz lime juice, 3/4oz simple syrup, and add a grapefruit peel to the shaker. It's such a small change but makes such a difference having the fragrant oils from the grapefruit peel in the drink, gives it a moreish tanginess.
ОтветитьRight before I watched this I was thinking "Damn I should make a Daquri with some Banana and Pineapple" So Great video with great timing!
ОтветитьMan. These are great Leandro. Thanks! Need to order some good banana liqueur and get some more falernum. I think a daiquiri party needs to happen.
ОтветитьI won't ask where you got Cuban rum haha
ОтветитьWhat makes the Stirred Daiquiri a daiquiri and not a gimlet?
ОтветитьA distillery in Quebec called Rosemont makes a good pineapple rum and it makes a great pineapple daiquiri. I just don't know if it's as good as Stiggins Fancy though.
ОтветитьI'm definitely going to try one or more of these this evening. Fun video thanks!
ОтветитьHave you ever heard of or made the Danube cocktail? I had it years ago at the Danube in NYC. Still trying to find the recipe.
ОтветитьMy favorite variations of the daiquiri are the Hemingway, using maraschino liqueur from Croatia, and the Epestone Daiquiri with creme de cassis and a few dashes of Angostura bitters!
Great video, definitely will make some of these. Greetings from Amsterdam, the Netherlands
A twist on daiquiri I really love is the "Periodista" (journalist) , I don't remember much of its history but basically u switch the maraschino from the classic floridita with an apricot brandy and the result is... outstanding. The barman who introduced me to that suggested to use lemon instead of lime, for additional balance coming from the more acid lemon. I have tried it both ways: in my opinion it works either way. He sometimes did it without sugar sometimes with a teaspoon of simple syrup. I hope you might like it :)
ОтветитьI honestly can't tell if you're trolling or just bad at pronunciation haha. Maraschino? Giffard? Saison?!?
ОтветитьYou mention a cocktail with hints of tiki, and though you haven't done one in awhile, a tiki bar in Honolulu called Skull and Crown Trading Co. does really modern tiki drinks that are delicious, their menu should be available online
ОтветитьYou forgot to post the Stirred Daiquiri!!!
ОтветитьI can’t wait to try these!
ОтветитьOne of my favs is the Kapu Kai from Beachbum Berry:
3/4oz lime juce
3/4oz simple syrup (I always use a 2:1 ratio)
1.5oz 151 Demerara rum
It's strong but sweet and delicious!
Thank Leandro.
BTW, in your show comments recipe you list the amount of lime juice used in the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club daiquiri as 3/4 oz while in the video you say and list 1/2 oz lime juice.
🍸🍹🎉
ОтветитьThe Royal Yacht looks more like a Mai Tai.
ОтветитьThat strawberry pineapple daiquiri is looking tasttyyy 😮💨
ОтветитьDo you have any recommendations for a pineapple juice substitute? I'm allergic to pineapple but love tropical drinks - I haven't been able to find anything that replaces it very well. Thanks!
Heather
What glasses are you using for the Hemmingway Daiquri please ?
ОтветитьSo close to my name ☠
ОтветитьThese look good! I will try them.
ОтветитьHave to laugh since I just watched a bunch of pretentious, hipster bartenders talking about how their "interview drink" is the traditional Daiquiri. One guy actually said, that the drink could be made perfectly but if the "energy" wasn't right you wouldn't get hired. I mean, COME ON! - you put the three ingredients together, shake, pour and - voila! - a Daiquiri appears. Also, many of the bartender commenters said that no one has ever ordered a Daiquiri from them. None of my drinking friends has ever ordered one either, so not sure where exactly this is as popular as you say. Anyway, cheers from Indiana!
ОтветитьLeandro, I just invented my first cocktail, and it came out so delicious I have to share it here. I call it a pineapple-coconut daiquiri. One ounce lime juice, 3/4 oz. simple syrup, 2 1/2 oz Plantation pineapple rum, 1/4 oz Koloa coconut rum. Hope you try it.
ОтветитьI tried a lavender daiquiri on a cruise and I loved it. White rum, lime juice and lavender syrup. Yum
ОтветитьYou always know when he REALLY likes a drink!😂
I’m going to be having some fun with these daiquiri’s, thank you as always!
I was out of simple syrup (and too lazy to make some) so I used 100% maple syrup instead and accidentally made a delicious fall daiquiri, a maple daiquiri if you will. Highly recommend
ОтветитьWell, I’m obviously late to the party. I was looking for some fresh inspiration for summer drinks and I want to say— I just made your Strawberry Pineapple Daiquiri recipe and it’s a winner! I didn’t have the specific white rum you had, so I tried it with a new brand I recently tried: Casa de Magdalena from Guatemala. Makes for a great drink! Thank you.
Ответитьhemmingway needed to make regular blood donations ...

and will lower the viscosity of your blood ...
