BenQ XL2730Z - The Best AMD FreeSync Gaming Monitor?

Still using as my main pc monitor has been superb for many competitive fps sessions, no dead pixels or issues thus far, touch wood. Very sturdy build and design wise hasn't aged too badly. Potential bargairs to be had in the used markets.

Using this still (as my secondary monitor now) such a fantastic monitor have a few dead pixels in the center but other than that it's still going strong.

Pls answer my question does this monitor support 144hz on hdmi and displayport or only on displayport?

Just got one of these off eBay for £220.. except I didn't. Turns out there's an identical looking "Zowie" XL2735 without freesync. Bit of a pisstake really, looking online it SHOULD support freesync too so literally is just a firmware thing. Also it has a different logo on the back.
Won't lose any sleep cos it's still a great price on a really nice monitor, and might be able to hack the firmware anyway, but kinda annoying releasing an updated model then removing features.

I couldn't believe I will never buy a TN monitor again but after three mega disappointment (Acer X34, Acer XR382CQK and Dell Ultrasharp 34...) I had no choice but get the best the TN range offers. This monitor (today as Zowie XL2730) is one of the best, if not the very best TN monitor. It doesn't have to be ashamed next to the IPS monitor. So rich colors and sharp details. The panel indeed is a bit grainy if looking closely but from 50-60 centimeters it's hardly noticeable. I got almost three XL2730's at the price of the Acer. Never again ultrawide flickering slideshow ghosting sluggish IPS monitors on my desk.

I have been using this monitor for a year. Could not be happier.

The two things putting me off of this monitor are 1. It's a freesync monitor and not a g-sync monitor and 2. It's a lot more money just to upgrade from 1080p to 1440p.

How does a GTX 980 work with Adaptive Symc?

If I use Nvidia cards, would it still be a good monitor for 550 dollars? Would it still work at 1440p and 144hz with a 1080? Does freesync really make a difference or should I just try to find a gsync monitor at 1440p 144hz?

Hey guys. So my boyfriend isn't a hardcore gamer but he does play games like Shadow of Mordor, World of Warcraft, LoL, and Skyrim on his PC, and I wanted to purchase him a gaming monitor for Christmas. My ideal price would be $300 but I would be willing to go up to $380. I also work at Best Buy and would prefer to buy from them. This monitor is sold by Best Buy but because I am not a hardcore gamer myself and know very little about gaming monitors I don't want to choose something that may not be worth $300-$380. Does anyone have an pointers or suggestions for what I should get or look for? Please and Thank you.

Seems you can't fault it, yet it's not as good let alone better. Somehow. It's sometimes hard to overcome looks for technical excellence, I know this. :)
