These countries also keep their people uneducated, barring them from going to school, from becoming critical thinkers lest they make they realization that what is pupported as religion isnt in fact religious at all.

Take Indonesia and Malaysia, for example—some of the largest Muslim-majority countries. They don’t experience any of the oppressive cultural practices because their cultures have managed to distinguish between religion and arab culture, having clear distinct lines where culture starts and ends and where religion starts and ends.

Dear people of the book. There are so many things said by this lady that are just not generalizable for most muslims. As a muslim who was born in Morocco but grew up in de West, I have a totally different experience with my religion. Almost all Iranians I know are traumatized by their strict government, which leads them to eventually turn their back to religion all together. A government that adheres to a sect of islam that majority of muslims do not adhere to or believe in.
