Tune in for this edition of Neutrog TV where Dr Uwe Stroeher talks to Graham Ross about the benefits of nutrient cycling for soil fertility and improved water use efficiency.
🌿 GOGO Juice is literally teeming with beneficial microbiology and is essentially a pro-biotic for your soil and plants, GOGO Juice combines the catalystic power of a wide diversity of beneficial bacteria and fungi with the well documented benefits of applying kelp and humates. Applications of GOGO Juice provide a huge boost to the living microbiology necessary for your soil and plants to perform at their optimum level, increasing their ability to resist pest and disease and to withstand and recover from heat stress and frost.

The Doc from Neutrog will have a chat today about soil nutrient cycling and how we can influences this to benefit your plants. Hi Uwe
Hi Graham, the story of nutrient cycling is very interesting, many people would suspect that in order for lush plant growth you need lots and lots of nutrients and this is true to some extent but in rainforests or in tropical areas the soil itself is in many cases nutrient poor. So the massive variety of plants and lush growth is due to rapid cycling of those nutrients. When leaves or other organic matter fall in these areas the insects and more importantly the microbes get to work quickly breaking this material down and making the nutrients available for the next round of plant growth. It is by the action of bacteria and fungi that the rainforest can support the diversity and vigour.
That makes sense but we can’t all have a rainforest in our gardens.
You’re right of course, but what we can do is to influence the nutrient cycling in our gardens. We did experiments looking at nutrients within plants when using our microbial probiotic GoGo juice. We grew wheat in a glasshouse and in fields with or without GoGo juice. We applied GoGo juice twice in the growing period, and we found something interesting. When we examined the nutrient levels in the grain and the stalks of the plant we saw that nutrients in the waste product so the stalks was higher in plants who had not received GoGo juice and lower in those that did, however, in the grain the nutrient level was the same for both groups. This indicates that the turnover of nutrients is altered within plants that had been given GoGo juice. We have some idea of what is happening but need to do more work.
So does this mean that GoGo juice can influence soil nutrient cycling?
It would certainly indicate that nutrients are being made more readily available for the plant because GoGo Juice helps breakdown organic matter. The plant then potentially responds by altering the way it uses nutrients. It showed us that GoGo juice does have an influence, we saw a similar response in all plants we tested so it wasn’t just in one or two plants. What we think occurs is that with increased nutrient cycling the plant has a reduced need to store nutrients within the stalk as there is ready supply in the soil. So the plant can then expends its resources in other areas such as increased growth or flower production. Other experiments with GoGo juice in vineyards resulted in a 10% increase in flower. So we see multiple effects on plants when using GoGo Juice.
It would appear the research and trials with GoGo Juice indicate that it influences plants in a positive manner, so applying GoGo Juice around your garden will improve the nutrient cycling and as such your plants. GoGo Juice from Neutrog is available at Bunnings, other hardware outlets and of course good garden centres.
