Shouldn’t all those cable lines lead to outlets through your house? Why wouldn’t you direct the signal to another room and set up the network hardware in somewhere other than the absolute worst room in the house? Just seems like if you’re only paying for 200 Mbps, fiber would just be a waste of money.

I’ve had the same system for about 2 years. Mostly it works fine. But rarely delivers full speed to my devices, but usually enough for my use. I’ve had 2 main issues though. First, it does not like Alexa at all. I have them in several rooms and it’s a crap shoot if Alexa will work, especially multi room music. Second, I’m getting the connection drop on my devices, specifically my work computer, every couple hours. Used to not have this issue, but recently started a couple months ago. Seriously considering switching.

I don’t currently have Wi-Fi. I saw this at Walmart. If I buy this, will this be all I need for Wi-Fi, or will I still have to pay monthly for a service to get Wi-Fi?

Setup question. My end goal is setting up wifi in my metal shop. I have wifi in main house but the reach is not enough. With this system can I set up mesh router in my house, send wifi signal to satellite in my garage & then grab the wifi signal from garage & then resend signal through an underground cat6 to the metal building where the cat6 is plugged into the other mesh satellite to provide wifi in shop? Clearly I do not understand this stuff so here I am, asking.

To get the faster speed on your internet speed test, did you have to plug in a Ethernet to a satellite for that or just wireless

Folks if your wondering why he is getting higher speeds that what he subcribes is due to data overhead from the cable companies. Basically, cable providers have 1,000gigs from the headend....

From their, light travels via fiber to a node at the distribution area (typically a pole or underground development)

Then light gets converted to RF and runs coax up to customers premises.. 1000gig is available for the entire neighborhood at this point, but thats limited to what the customers are paying for.....

So if most customers are only paying 200 mbps out of the avail 1,000g thats available, you will end up pulling some data overhead... but during peak hours, when data traffic is heavy, sometimes you will test about 70mbps lower starting from any overhead...

This is why your speeds during certain hours change. So if your paying 200 and getting 236, your most likely not in peak hour.

But if your getting 170 out of 200, then most likely your in peak hour. Your ISP guarantees you 70% to 80% speed... thisbis why overhead is important to have..

So for those thinking omg lets get this so i can get more speeds than what im paying for, dont lol.... your just not in peak hour 😅.

Also, many of these issues dont exist in fiber.. in stead, your limits are down to installation.. coax, you limits are wether or not you want a hole drilled 😅😅😅

Nice video..

I use Roku streaming devices for all my TV's on three different levels. I have Comcast 1.2gig service and have a Arris S33 modem and Netgear Nighthawk RAXE300. The modem and router are in the computer room top level. I have noticed spotty service on all levels even the level where the router and modem is. Does this mean I need a mesh system?
