I have an original Pixel Fold. Even with the great trade in value and the extra pre-Black Friday discount on the Google Store, I've yet to pull the trigger on the new one. I worry that the form factor is worse on the new one. I also worry about it not working with my wireless charging stands.

The OG form factor is gold. Why Google changed this unique size. The most appealing thing in the OG fold is a passport look like.

I went to BB to look at the Pixel Fold 9 Pro. Had it in my hand before I ever held the original. For me I thought it was too much like the OnePlus Open, which I already have. With that being said, for me, the PF1 is the sweet spot. I have my SIM in it now, and I'm really enjoying it. Multitasking is good, but the Duo is still is the king in that area.

yes one question - if use open and dual screen - the keyboard is opening over both - I hope this will be fixed with Android-Update ;-)

I'm still using SD2. What is the best foldable to buy if you already own SD2?

I Received my Google Pixel 9 pro fold a few weeks ago and perhaps its just me, but i liked the phone, but i was not like WOW. There were sone significant impeovements and the most important improvement for me persnally was the better modem for better cellular connectivity, which i did notice was dramatically improved. Sadly though, i after my second week i started feeling it was not worth the $1900 because it just was not enough improvement . Performance wise, i could no see a difference from my original pixel fold from G2 to G4, so i returned it. I missed the original fold form factor so i will keep rocking it!

I wish I could find a phone with the same dimensions as the Pixel Fold, even without the need for it to be foldable... its height and width are perfect for the hand.

My Pixel 9 went dead yesterday. Just went black screen. Won't turn on. Can't reset. Phone is only 4 days old. Google already shipped me a new replacement.

Unfortunately my Pixel Fold broke. It randomly began boot-looping and overheating. This persisted after many hard factory resets. I hadn't dropped it or installed any betas so not sure what happened there. Then static began appearing over apps, but only on the cover display. Ironically nothing happened to the inner display. Fortunately I got Geek Squad protection, but they gave me store credit. I was fine with that as I used it to pick up an S24 Ultra, GW7, and Buds 3. I still have one foldable and that's my Open and I actually got the Oppo Pen for it.

I agree with you tho. I prefer and miss the form factor of the OG Pixel Fold, but the cameras and performance is better on the next gen P9PF.

I am so close to pulling the trigger on a pre-order through my provider for pixel nine Pro fold, I have the Samsung Z fold six, but, for many reasons, the P9PF is more appealing to me, mostly because I do delivery gig work and for several reasons, the pixel seems like the better choice, but, I need a wireless car charging cradle, and I am finding nothing online other than people saying that they can't find one that works.
I can't remember exactly which one you were using with your original pixel fold, although I do have that video saved put in a folder so that I can find it again at need, I have also found that particular model, whichever one it is, and saved it on a list on my Amazon account. So my question is does the new P9PF charge in that cradle? I can't find any information anywhere, so, please,Obi-Craig, you're my only hope. Lol.

I had a fold 3, 4, and 5 before this pixel 9 pro fold. Know what though? I'm not asking if I'm missing any of them. What I miss is the surface duo line. Every damn day I miss those things.

If they could have kept the form factor... but just made the bezels thinner... improved the (horrible) battery life... and made it lighter... the 2nd version (with the same form factor) would have been great. But oh well...

Man, this video caught my attention so quickly lol. I got the 9 fold (since returned and got the 9 XL) because I just couldn't get over the thin front screen as I use the front screen 95% of the time and I missed the original width of the original.
I think google had the chance to keep that thickness and missed the mark to be different.

But after seeing how big it is IRL in comparison to other phones - i just cant justify it.

The OG form factor is king. Amazong one hand device that folds into an actual tablet.

Still love my PF, and (mostly) the software. But why do you think that Google did not take the opportunity, AI aside, to improve the multitasking? Or is 2 open apps at any given time enough for the majority of people?

This is not even close. Prefer the old format. Everything else is most definitely v2.. if you like the OnePlus, fine. If you like the zfold, fine. This is about pixel fold 1 vs pixel fold 2.

Despite the few nitpicks I have about my Fold, the form factor makes a lot of sense. It's unfortunate Google decided to imitate One Plus rather than stick with a refined version of the original form factor. Most all companies do it though...

hi shane. as usual, gr8 video. keep 'em coming 👏🏾👏🏾

I bought the original pixel fold at launch. and I absolutely loved the form factor.
weight aside, it was brilliant. having said that, quickly got used to it.

unfortunately, I couldn't justify shelling out another £1700 for the P9 fold. but managed to get a good deal on a P9 pro.

to be honest, I'm not too keen on the size. I feel it's too slim & tall. I know it's generally the same size as the iphone & samsung, but I think that was the appeal of the pixel fold's outer screen.

I'd love it if, next year, Google would change the form-factor back to the original fold.

Those that think either the 9ProFold, or OG Pixel Fold, or zFold6 is best, are just not well informed.

For those that are limited in selection, as the US market is, there is only one clear choice that is superior to all of these others and is not mentioned enough.

It is the OnePlus Open.
It literally answers the all the requests of both Samsung/Google customers and still is superior to the 9ProFold & zFold6.

There needs to be new comparison reviews to enlighten users that they are actually handicapped with Google/Samsung Folds.
