You turned me on to the Neotrekk alcohol stones, brother, and it's the greatest gizmo I've ever had... It's made of rocks. lol!

Im building out an adventure van, so these bigger stoves are definitely of interest. This thing looks like it might be great to toss a carbon steel Wok on.

Seems like a good stove for car camping or at home extra burner or back up if power goes out.

Seems like cleanup would be a challenge if you spilled on the IR emitter.

I am impressed by these infrared stoves and how much heat they can pump out... quite subtle compared to a similar capacity flame stove. My only concerns are the large pan only size gap on top, and how well can you clean the burner if something boils over?

I wonder if a pot with a heat exchanger would cook faster on this stove?

If you do standardize your water temp do something cold. Theory bring most uses of these stoves would be outdoors and using river water or something

Interesting stove. Like @akbychoice posted about 5 hours before me said, the shiny surface reflects the radiant heat and slows the process. A sooty or black-bottomed pot would probably work faster.

I think you should start timing an INFRARED stove when it becomes INFRARED and not before.
Just saying...infrared stove is not infrared until it glows red - infrared.

For polished stainless, all need be done is some sanding on the bottom.
As for the stove, it's currently unavailable.

Firemaple gives that warning about polished pots for their Sunflower stove.

So a car camping stove, but only a single burner. I guess at $33. if you're interested your better snatch it up before all the Pre-tariff stoves are gone!

In a real world environment when cooking on a gas stove, sometimes things boil over into burner. I’m wondering what would happen to that burner if it got dirty.
