The picture after the Merak is a Merak as well, not a Bora!
ОтветитьDrove it on a circuit circa 1999, back to back with the F355. The Ferrari was a much better driving car - gave a lot of confidence even to an inexperienced driver like myself, whereas the 3200 GT was just plain scary and unpredictable. Yes, it can be desirable now, just like audio cassettes have become desirable again. From this era, give me an F355 any day.
ОтветитьYour wrong Jack. Maserati biturbo's got a lot better from 1987 when they head injection. Maserati is a great car more a car againts an Aston Martin then a Porsche. The Biturbo's are great engines
ОтветитьI had a Y plate over 20 years ago in the light blue… i think it was called azzuro or argento blue with cream leather and the same colour blue piping and it was an absolute beast! I also owned a 355 not long after which doesn’t come close to the mazza for power but both are beautiful cars.
ОтветитьThe moat desirable!?!? Ha ha ha this car has a lot of problems is a real crap
ОтветитьI once collected one of these from auctions at Telford for delivery back to a local company. Yes it was a nice luxurious grand tourer, and the engine sounded great and pulled like a train - but this example had an awful electronic automatic gearbox, with a very tiny stupid looking "duffle-coat toggle" gear selector! On acceleration it charged away, reaching the change up revs in about 2 secs, then almost stopped before the gearbox decided you probably wanted 2nd gear selecting, and then it again screamed up the rev range, until 3rd was required, where it again decelerated, before "thinking" about your next change.... I never got into flappy gear changers, I never saw the point of manually changing an automatic gearbox.
ОтветитьSo...the 3200GT vs a Ferrari 456M???
ОтветитьIt's simply beautiful❤
ОтветитьLeave it to somebody ruled by incest cousins to say that thing is good in nay sense of the word
ОтветитьI test drove a 3200 GT when it came out at a main dealer in Colchester, I liked it, but found the drive by wire throttle like an on/off switch.
I've always had a desire for the Assetto Corsa special edition, but the prices they ask for these today are ludicrous, I'd rather have a much newer and better looking Gran Turismo; you're still going to have to pay the same ridiculous running costs, but hopefully less frequently.
Brown interiors... screams old man. neeeeeeext
Ответитьnow it's the most desireable because someone bought 15 and decided to flip them
ОтветитьBit of a false premise in your title. There’s no good reason to suggest this is the worst Maserati ever produced. I would say it’s one of the better cars, good enough for Ferrari to develop into the 4200 and Gransport. And, it’s definitely not the most desirable either because these cars aren’t easy to sell. I know because I still have my 3200 GTA after a year of trying to find a buyer.
ОтветитьNice but prefer the Bi-Turbo cars...
ОтветитьThe Lewinsky scandal was a Mossad op ….
ОтветитьIt sounds great have to luv the 90’s cars
ОтветитьIt's just a shame that Maseratis have been beautiful junk for several decades. I'd take literally any comparable car over a maserati despite the look and sound.
Ответитьnobody wants this goofy looking multipla coupe
ОтветитьIts a marmite brand for most. Interesting, just never been a fan of larger GT cars. Maserati's reputation hasn't been good for a long time. You just have to really want one.👍
ОтветитьThey seem like a car for someone who is trying way too hard with too little cash, but that's just me.
ОтветитьLove the looks of these!
ОтветитьIt might need that throttle update that Wheeler Dealers needed
ОтветитьNever figured out why these mfgs did not go to Honda for their transmissions.
ОтветитьI agree the back is unique. I wish the front had a more agressive grill opening with big trident (similar to the Khamsin) instead of looking so similar to other cars such as the DB7.
Ответитьi hate the price but love the car, the shamal was boxy like the inocentiDeTomaso i have from 83 but bought in 2016 maybe, a v8 mesaratti that seems that one ,it looked to me as the design of some 70´s sport cars or i had not bought it
Ответитьand why hated , the quatroporte or the fourdoor is more but less
ОтветитьI had two of them new back in the early 2000nds. Both manual 6 speed. Throttle response was delicate, zero or 1... Engine mountings were too soft. You had to drive with concentration when starting at stand still.
Otherwise no trouble at all. It was / is a grand tourer with character. I several times achieved speeds considerably over 300 km/h... maybe the output was well over 400 HP
Love it especially the styling
ОтветитьThe LED lights is what makes me want it so much way ahead of their time in shape and design.
ОтветитьLooks like an 8th generation Buick Riviera
Ответить"The faster it goes the faster it go"

Between 2006 and 2019 I owned both the 3200 und 4200 (both with manual gear) in succession. I loved both cars. The 4200 proved to be especially reliable and cheap to drive as far as mechanics and bodywork are concerned (electronics not so much). It may have been the cheapest car I have ever owned in terms of EUR/km, despite its fuel consumption of close to 15 l/100km in average. Being a father of four the comfortable backseats meant I could use the Maseratis more often instead of our family car. I sold it only because my trusted and competent mechanic who had also taken care of my Alfas and the Ferrari retired. Without a workshop with people loving these cars and who know what they are doing exotic cars can easily turn into a money pit.
ОтветитьMistral was not the only old Maserati name that VW snapped up.
ОтветитьI'm surprised you didn't run into @harrysgarage on that road 😊
ОтветитьHated is a bit of a strong word…
Ответитьin my book Maseratis are the most elegant cars that I will never be able to afford
ОтветитьI swallowed the brave pill, I took time to find a good manual, still delighted now, years later. Hated is a strong word, maybe more clickbait than reality! New rubber (Michelin PS4's) makes a huge difference to handling. Good to see a more positive review at last. Becoming rarer now that so many have been broken for parts, Try one whilst they are still under valued.
ОтветитьAlways loved those rear lights. I think the 3200GT was pretty much the first car to make brake lights the major design feature they have since become. Conversely - and as an Alfa fan (GTV driver) - I've always found the front end of this car strangely non-committal - timid almost! It deserves a bolder design. I can't, as I suggest, image Alfa playing safe with a GT design!
ОтветитьI hate mine. I have it for 4 years. Drove 1000 miles and it's on jackstands for 3 years now
ОтветитьThe 2nd turbo doesn't 'kick in. Both 4 cilinder rows have a small ihi turbo attached. It's like 2 times a 4 cilinder 1.6 turbo combined
ОтветитьThese are so beautiful, wish I bought one before they already went up (here in Australia).
ОтветитьStill for sale 2 months later...
ОтветитьWhat a cool engine to be paired with a stick!
Ответитьsorry for not like, although I DO like (and the effort for posting it), but in a way similar to my wife's answers😃😃😃😃, really really sorry mate!!!
maybe the reason had to do on "the most desirable", which is desirable in almost anyway!, but for my point of view, probably not the the Most!
Please keep the good effort u do!! C U
What a beautiful arse.
ОтветитьI used to own a 3200. Black wheels, red calipers. It drove like a rocket with the turbo. The start up sound was awesome
ОтветитьThank you very much for sharing your experience. I like also your reflections about the differences between the 3200, 4200, Ferrari and company, really interesting!
ОтветитьHmmm. Would you take this over a sporting Jag? Be interested to hear....
