Is Being Slain in the Spirit Really in the Bible?

Randy, for years I looked for scripture that backed this up and couldn’t find it. I was so happy to see your post the other day. I’ve been slain in the spirit twice. I felt a heat run through my body and a peace that I couldn’t explain. However, I heard a minister preach that it was because the person has a demon and that is why they fall out. So I stopped allowing ppl to lay hands on me for healing or prayed. looking forward to your message

I don't know about being "slain" in the spirit but unexpectedly during prayer I went down and I felt a love, peace, no condemnation, no guilt... just love for God and from God. I know that I experienced God's presence that night and it was just a small prayer as the service was dispersing but I know it was God's love I felt.. nothing but The Holy Spirit. I felt two people catch me but after, people said I hit the floor but was not hurt.

I do think most, if not all, of this is fake--the falling and rolling around. I have see preachers and pastors fake this and literally push people's heads back. Same goes with speaking in "tongues". I believe that most people fake this.

I have been slain in the spirit, The holy spirit came upon me and I lost all strength to even stand, I was all alone both times. and each time the lord spoke to me with a voice in my head. Once on my bed and once in the garden. both times he wanted my full attention. You will have no strength when overshadowed. It kind of scared me to be honest. In the garden he told me he wanted to prune my olive tree. in the bed he had a message for me to give to the church body, they didn't know what to think! Most don't have the faith to understand because they don't believe truly of spiritual power and authority can manifest. This is why you don't see miracles signs and wonders that Jesus said would follow the believer in Mark 16:15-20 NO FAITH

I have myself been to one of these meetings & I saw ppl fall back.. I did myself but it didn’t feel like the Holy Spirit coming over me. I didn’t get good feelings about it at all…
Altho, I have been brought to my knees at least twice in my life… it was almost out of my control… I didn’t label it as anything except the power of The Lord revealing something important to me. One when Jesus Christ was revealed to me in my living room all alone & finally knowing who He truly was, the next, when God was telling me it was time to clean my life up & leave the world stuff behind. The other two I was compelled (dropped to my knees in prayer) to worship & praise with SO MUCH Thanksgiving to Him for some special prayers that were answered.
I’m not sure I fully understand this slain in the spirit & why it is used? I’m not saying that it’s not true but I would feel like there would be more evidence to this stuff in the Bible which you gave a few examples which I’m thankful for but it’s always been associated with groups of believers convulsing & what I had been apart of which didn’t feel right to me…? Idk?

I used to be one of those religious types that spoke against the things that Randy speaks of in this video. I did it under the influence of the religious spirit. The Lord had to bring me through a long humbling process to see this and admit to it. Unfortunately, I was raised in a church that was governed by a religious spirit, so it was really all I knew. I thank God for the mercy He has shown me and for opening my eyes to many things about His character that I had no clue of. Some time ago, after I had become more open to the manifestations of God's Spirit, I had an encounter with the Holy Spirit that blew me away. It happened while I was alone in my apartment. I don't think I could call it being slain in the Spirit because I didn't fall down, but I certainly felt the weight of God's glory. I look forward to more encounters with God's Spirit.

Hey Randy as a Christian I still believe in Speaking in tongues today and in Falling in the spirit and in prophecies and in mircales and healings, which many Christians sadly don't believe today ❤✝️

Ya know, I believe being overcome by the Spirit is of God and biblical. Being pushed is not. I've been pushed. This caused me to hesitate to go up front for prayer. If I did go up, I dug in my heels to keep from being pushed over. The ONE and only time I went down was at a Friday night worship service. Nobody touched me. That was a genuine experience.

I had an encounter with the Holy Spirit praying for a loved one and was blessed to start speaking in tongues. We had a conversation (telepathically) and it forever changed my life. I still hear his voice and it's always leading me. That still small voice...I pray everyone gets to experience this. God bless!

My husband didn't believe it until one day at a prayer meeting he stood in prayer for a man who was on drugs. The next thing he knew he was feeling warm oil over him and he fell backwards and no one caught him. He wasn't hurt at all and felt drunk in the spirit afterward.

I seen my mom hit by the power of God she got hit with filling of holy Ghost in her chair she was shaking her whole body in her chair at our church meeting. an I got slain in spirit at one of our prayer meeting an the ladies were praying over me thinking I had demons how sad, even my pastor even said Irene what's a matter what's going on

I am not Pentecostal. I grew up Episcopalian and then became a Baptist. I went to a Kathryn Kuhlman gathering one time. I was a very sick teenager. She called all the teenagers on stage and prayed for us. She never touched any of us, she simply prayed for us and reached out her hand towards us. Right after that, I found myself being lifted off the floor by someone who was standing behind me. I did not feel myself fall. It was almost magical. I didn’t understand what happened at the time. It took 10 years and my disease went into remission. I don’t know if that event had something to do with that, but whatever it was, I ended up on the floor and was eventually healed.

I don't know how can being slain in the Spirit bring glory to God.

Hi, I find in myself a resistance to the term "slain in the spirit ". It doesn't seem to fit with the experience of being blessed with a vision or Heavenly experience. Every account and scripture you shared Randy is encouraging. But saying that all are "slaying in the spirit" bothers me. This is not criticizing, because I don't want to feel this, but I think it is hindering me from receiving. Why do we use such a term?
