I think you meant to say give every dollar a job and adjust without guilt 😅. Excellent 👌👍👌 advice though.

I actually didn’t officially budget, but I was close to poor for about 10 years and this was after I was a college graduate. I’m a boomer. I did not know that younger generations think of us as the extravagant ones. But when I started making money again, I didn’t assume that it was gonna stay like that so I kept living quite simply for those first years and slowly spent a little more. I was single and that affected it because I think if I had been in a relationship, I would’ve wanted to spend more money on fun things and I think I would’ve been OK. I had also read a book about millionaires that showed that they were often not the high earners. They weren’t stingy, but they were careful. And you don’t have to aim it being what you might call wealthy. I don’t know what it’s gonna be like in the next decades given the changes that are happening now, but I still think it’s possible to be comfortable without having to be super wealthy, especially if we keep working for a society that takes providing some kind of social safety net seriously. We have the money for it. And I would definitely be willing to be taxed at an even higher rate if I thought it was happening for the people wealthier than I was, and that it was being spent for those who truly need it.
