Curious, did you use an external tool to map out the flight plan way points in between? Also, can you just import the flight plan from an external tool, or is it all manual

What addon did you use to get the static fedex aircraft on on the ground

How did you get the camera slightly moving around by itself? Is it FSRealistic pro? If yes, which of its settings is it

As always clouds, atmosphere, haze, light scattering and oversaturated colore in fs2020 SUCKS.... 😂

Better than PMDG?

I don't know what went wrong with my MD-11, but I get an avergage estimated landing distance of about 400-500 meters. Regardless of the settings 💀

Thank you for this, I have decided to wait a while before buying the MD11. As you say, it might need some improvements. I have the TFD B717 and there are simulates, in the panels, with that. Seeing how that and this are updated versions of the old DC10 and DC9, by McDonnell Douglas, that is understandable. Great videos but please take out the fake radio calls.

Excellent video thanks. I love this aircraft but having FPS issues. I have a RTX4080 32GB RAM and quite happily run at 65 fps plus with PMDG 777 and other aircraft but as soon as this loads from external view fps drop by 50% and even lower with stutters.

Am i the only one who hate that "rachet" sound we can hear in back ground during the whole flight ? I searched in real md11 video and there isn't that cheap shitty sound

i find my self very split with the TFDI MD11, i like the looks of it but the 80-90$ price point seems very steep for what it is. i would expect PMDG level relise even then with a larger 777 was still cheaper and i think it includes the cargo veriant when finished. so this comes across as a better option. But if you have to have a md11 but be willing to pay a premium and even then if you want the othere veriant you have to pay an extra fee. wich dosent sit easy with myself. if im paying a premium full feature price i dont expect to have to pay extra to get the full version.

Excellent summation as usual, when you referenced the aircraft as a mix between airbus and Boeing I did cringe just a bit. Macdonald and Douglas have existed long before Airbus became anything. Perhaps Airbus copied everyone else and had much success with it. Albeit with plenty of funding by the citizens in Europe.

I absolutely regret purchasing this plane for $80. It's more like a $50 aircraft in its current state. This will definitely be my last purchase from TFDI. Releasing this for $80 is a major disappointment. The exterior feels like an afterthought, and it's riddled with bugs that certainly don't justify its "premium" price tag.

Plane is a lot better after the update. Still some things that need to be ironed out it seems, but it is workable at this point. I really wanted this plane for cargo ops, but I dont think its worth $80. Pretty high for an aircraft that has had a long list of issues to be fixed. The planes wasnt really ready for release.

By the time you reached the ILS, you should have had the gear down and locked, flaps set for approach, speed also.
In the conditions you were in, icing was automatically set. Because 'ice!'
You're in the glideslope for final and your gear was still in the 'up ' position. Landing gear drag will also increase drag and help in speed control, as you descend.
You wouldn't want to be pointing at the end of the runway and not have a 'down and locked,' green light on any of the gear...

I live by a Fed Ex hub, and I have sadly noticed a down turn on sighting the MD-11s of their fleet as they phase in the Airbus aircraft. The fact this is the last of the Tri-engined aircraft which were unique. Not sure if the MD-11 is just going to other hubs and assignments or if Fed Ex is indeed retiring this aircraft. The sim seems quite impressive if needing a little work, which is very likely to happen. The wheels for setting things definitely need some attention.

Fenix set the standard so high for engine simulation I've been kind of turned off by the details here. APU Model is near non existent-APU EGT Temps are either 250, 350, or 550. There is no range. Apply ELEC and it will instantly snap to 350. Crazy. Even rotate does this bit better. ENG Model-Packs have no effect on load/n1. Nacelle temp goes to 6c regardless of ambient, same for oil temp. Engine spool time is unlike ANY turbofan ever produced. These are the rather jarring things I've noticed. They got a fair bit right, but missed some of the obvious things. Not to mention the complete lack of ACARS-couldn't even give us FLT INIT? This function is replaced by 'send plan to fmc' which couldn't be more immersion breaking-not that i was immeresed anyway.

Did you record this video with the latest version (1.0.7) of the aircraft ? MCP rotary encoders are extremely slow and annoying. The navdata is supplied by navigraph so I couldn't understand why you said it was a bit old ? The video is up to your usual excellent standard. Thank you for putting so much effort in to show off this interesting aircraft.

One of my squadron mates in the Air Force reserve got hired on as a pilot with a small startup company called Federal Express. This would have been around 1973 or so. The only aircraft type in their fleet was the Fanjet Falcon. Their sole business was overnight delivery of small packages so they were, quite literally, a fly-by-night outfit. I don't know what eventually became of the company. I'm sure they fizzled like most undercapitalized startups. There's certainly no way they ever could have evolved into a giant corporation with a fleet of large transport category airplanes with, say, three or more engines.
