When I read comments of such type of health related videos.. People says amazing, awesome.. Very informative.. No any video in which people critise... Infact all videos are appreciated but still peoples suffer from health related issues...either not learnt from videos or information are not correct...

Infact people shall appreciate only after validating tips given through videos. First use the tips given through videos and if they helps you then only give feedback in comment.

B12, along with DHA and EPA is why I'm vegetarian and not vegan. Milk and eggs are excellent sources of b12 (I get about 3ug/day) and pasture raised eggs are a moderate source of DHA and EPA. As a vegetarian (who doesn't eat fish of course) I do have to supplement wit algae oil for EPA and DHA, but I can take two fewer tablets a day because of my egg consumption. This matters because algae oil supplements *are not cheap*. 2 eggs are equivalent to 1 algae oil dose, about the same cost and much, much tastier ;-)

Both vegetarians and vegans should supplement with zinc and k2. I probably get enough zinc from nuts, and enough k2 from ferments, but a little extra zinc and k2 to be sure is a good idea.

No matter what diet, everyone should supplement with d3.

I take high dose methyl B12, my blood test shows high, but my mcv’s remain high. I’m also carnivore. Years ago, I took injections, it my mcv’s were still high. I was getting heart palpitations, so stopped a few months ago, and my b12 blood level remained high, now I feel horrible. Head pressure, headaches, dry painful eyes, fatigue. Any suggestions? I am compound mthfr. I do take methyl folate.

I couldn’t sleep. I had chronic insomnia before B12 injections because my heart was pounding out of my chest at night. 40 points below what they consider deficient. I couldn’t even yawn to get enough oxygen because my body wasn’t making any red blood cells. Low B12 is basically a kind of anemia. Have received treatment for over six months. They said it would take 6 months to one year to heal from the damage done. Low B12 even affects DNA repair.

Dr Berg, what if you are allergic to cobalt and break out in hives when taking either methyl or cyano (cobalamin) cobalt. How can a person increase their B12 if faced with this problem?

Cannot find the answer to this: Creation of a neobladder after cystectomy uses the converted ileum, so you can no longer absorb b12 from food. So they tell you after a year, your body depletes b12 and you must get monthly injections of b12 or daily sublingual tablets. No explanation as to why, if it takes a year to deplete, you have to get monthly injections. Or, why sublingual has to be so often compared to injections.

I can't handle methyl b vitamins, I have slow COMT. But I also have FUT2 gene mutations which can cause me to not really absorb it properly. And I think that's happening. Liver seems to help the most.

Can intrinsic factor test ever be false negative ? What happens if you treat ataxia with b12 injections and you are told by hopeless drs your b12 is sky high stop taking it. So you are walking again and stop the b12 injections but still have symptoms.

What happens 5 years after this will there now be enough b12 in your system to stop you getting worse again?

Hi Dr. Berg, how many micrograms of Methylcobalamin we should take? I practically watched all your videos about B12 and on one of them you said 2.4mcg per day. I bought a chewable supplement and it has 10,000mcg. How much mcg is safe to take? Pls help. I would rather follow your recommendation than Google 😁

I’m in UK aged 60+. My B12 levels appear to be fine so NHS says I don’t have an issue. However I have MTHFR & my Dad had Pernicious Anaemia & had 3 monthly B12 shots for the last 20+ years of his life. I listened to a podcast with Patrick Holford recently who said raised homocysteine almost certainly indicates B12 deficiency. As NHS don’t test for HCY I went to a private clinic & my homocysteine is raised. The nurse who specialises in B12 deficiency had me fill out a checklist of any symptoms I have & my score was pretty high so she confirmed I do have a deficiency. I take a B complex capsule daily plus I supplement extra B12 (methylcobalamin) either with a sublingual tablet or a spray. I total about 2700mcg daily. Hopefully this will bring down my homocysteine & I am having much less tingling, pins & needles etc, though still quite tired. Back in the day I was on the pill for 15 years, then after a health scare in 1993 stopped them & was put on low dose aspirin which I took for 20 years. Since discovering I have MTHFR recently it’s little wonder I’m B12 deficient & probably have been for years. NHS just look at numbers & disregard people’s symptoms in so many cases so I have little faith left in them anymore.

I will take both. Although distinct differences exist between methylcobalamin and cyanocobalamin, both have beneficial effects on health and can prevent B12 deficiencies (12Trusted Source).

In fact, one study found that treating seven B12-deficient people with oral methylcobalamin normalized vitamin B12 levels in their blood within just 2 months (13Trusted Source).

Similarly, another study showed that taking cyanocobalamin capsules for 3 months also increased vitamin B12 levels in 10 people with pernicious anemia, a condition caused by impaired B12 absorption (14Trusted Source).

Both types of the vitamin may also provide other health benefits.

One review of seven studies showed that both methylcobalamin and a vitamin B-complex containing cyanocobalamin were effective in reducing symptoms of diabetic neuropathy, a complication of diabetes that leads to nerve damage (15Trusted Source).

Additionally, several animal studies have found that each form could have neuroprotective effects and may be beneficial in treating conditions that affect your nervous system (16Trusted Source, 17Trusted Source).

Excessive Vitamin B12 is just being expelled through urinating..
If you are injecting B12, it should be in the fatty tissue, because it is then slowly released over 24 hours, and nothing wasted..
I have done this for over 10 years now with very good results.
