Oh, so close to 20k! Come on internet! Anthony Bourdain was one-of-a-kind.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьI'm 59 and I've never thought to fry mortadella. The Man was a foodie savant. That sammie screams "What have I been missing!" Happy Thanksgiving to you, Aly and Lionel.☮❤🦃
ОтветитьHad me droolin' but ... I hate mustard so I think a layer of pickles would do the job. 😛
ОтветитьRIP to the man....great video as usual dude...cheers...happy Thanksgiving....go lions
ОтветитьRound Two Perfection! Grilled roll is bomb. Try adding potato chips and shredded lettuce! Yum.
ОтветитьThis is my favorite episode. I've seen every episode of Anthony's and you did him justice my friend, he's smiling up there!!
ОтветитьI remember this sandwich making its rounds on the internet for AB loving its simplicity. I remember being a kid and just doing the standard flat layers with sliced meat sandwiches but as you get older (one of my first jobs was working in a deli) we learned that folding the meat actually gave volume and a better bite. But something about seeing you cook it while folding it was so sexy lol :s Damn I wish my family liked mortadella.
ОтветитьHow about BTB and Chinese mustard with that egg?
ОтветитьThe fanciest fried bologna sandwich and I ain't even mad at it.
ОтветитьRIP to the greatest we lost way too soon
ОтветитьThat looks mighty tasty! And I agree, what a loss for us all.
ОтветитьThat looked delicious! Adding an egg and putting this on an everything bagel would be my move!
ОтветитьR.I.P AB ☹️
ОтветитьMayo and Dijon mustard look great but don’t overlook the runny egg!!!😋
ОтветитьI like Mortadella. I made this sandwich recently. I like fried meats of all shapes and sizes. I do not like fried Mortadella. I like this sandwich sans frying. So there.
Looking at your cross cut I thought, add an egg. Ooooo.
Holy crap Seany 2 Sandos. That looks sick! You could get $17.25 for that !
Happy thanksgiving to you crazy kids and Lionel ! Yes AB was the best😢
Nobody cares about that dead crackhead
ОтветитьMan I’m going to São Paulo in 2025 and now I know what kind of sandwich I’m getting! Great video
ОтветитьTempesta got some ballin dellA. Boars head gonna kill your grannie or peepaw
ОтветитьBeautiful. Just beautiful. Love mortadella
ОтветитьEnjoy it while you're young. At my age, I'd need a few bong hits before I ate that. I hope you used good mortadella. I didn't see pistachio. EDIT: Boar's Head. Get the real stuff. At the very least, there's an Eataly in Chicago, right?
ОтветитьAwesome sandwich respect, definitely going to make this at home looks delicious
ОтветитьAmazing looking sandwich. Would add a few thin sliced dill pickles in to offset the fat in the mortadella. I'm hungry
ОтветитьThat Sammy is just crying out for a fried egg as a new layer
ОтветитьI live in west Texas, where can I get that Mortadella meat?
ОтветитьSomeone tell this twit that Anthony Bourdain's favorite sandwich was a double, double from IN-N-OUT.
ОтветитьI just spanked me munkie.. me munkie was acting up..
ОтветитьHappy Thanksgiving to you and Allie and Lionel
Yeah, we miss Bourdain
He was a legend .
The world is a little bit less than without him in it …
But we have the memories
Happy holidays !🗽🎉😻🎄🥂
I miss Anthony. It was one won of my fave shows.
This sando is a variant of holuumi lounza which I used to get from a Cypriot run cafe in London. Same concept but they added chips and salad on top and didn't fry the bun. The fist time I bought that sando into the office, everyone was asking me where I got it from.
If you ever do a full English brekky, toss a piece of bread in the pan and fry it. It's beautiful!
Take care Seany 2 sandos!
Fancy fried bologna sammie! Truly Bourdain. We should get you some imported mortadella from Caputo's next though!
ОтветитьAnything Anthony liked is probably great!
ОтветитьMy family used to make something similar but we used chip-chop ham. Yeah, the cheap, composite ham loaf in the counter. Paper thin slices, grilled in a stack to crispiness on the outer sides and warm saltiness inside, slice of swiss cheese on top, melted, served on a hamburger bun. I imagine the grilled mortadella would taste like a very plussed up version.
ОтветитьHe was such a loss to the food community
ОтветитьI’ve never heard of this sandwich before but will be making it tonight. Looks absolutely delicious!
ОтветитьOh awesome! I love mortadella but never have I made something like this. On the list! Nice work!
ОтветитьI made basically the same thing but with pastrami instead. Sooo good.
ОтветитьThat Sammie is top shelf Chef! I’ll take one please! ☝️
ОтветитьAnthony Bordain " Don't be frightened to try something new" and then 20 seconds later his favourite sandwich is
bread
meat
cheese
Wow ... pushing the envelope. Wait till Arby's discovers this. Or Mcdonals, or BK or Wendys or ... etc etc.
Having said that you did a great video once again ... your camera work is top notch.
Next time perhaps cook your own bread for it, perhaps a baguette with 70% hydration, 2% salt, no sugar or fat.
And add something with a bite such as red cabbage to counter point the fat quotient. Sorted, give it your twist, would have been better than his.
I like your “light” spread. Thank you for reminding me about this treasure, one is going in my belly as I type, getting greasy finger tip spots all over my iPad. Rock and Roll AC!!
Ответить🎉
ОтветитьMaking this for Christmas morning.
ОтветитьI’d put some crispy onions and oil and vinegar on that jawn and tear it up!
ОтветитьYour Mortadella had peppercorns in it, not pistachios. You should find an Italian deli that imports it with pistachios; somewhere like Frangellas in Palos Park. That's simply a fried bologna with cheezus sammy, bro. Us blue collar immigrant's kids on the south side ate that on the regular back in the 70's and it only became popular with yuppies and hippies like AB after he "discovered" it and decided to talk about it. The poor kids ate the fried Oscar Mayer with Kraft slices "cheese" variant on Wonder Bread.
ОтветитьI've been binge watching and rewatching your channel and Eat Local with Corey all week, you guys are such a comfort... this looks so delish, Anthony was such a special person, his Beef Bourguignon from his Les Halles cookbook is hands down one of the best meals I have ever made, it's Christmas Dinner worthy, I highly recommend it. Also the scalloped potatoes (Gratin Dauphinois) are sublime as you boil them in milk with fresh thyme, hope you and Aly get to make it one day :)
I also just got my delivery of your and Corey's Sixer Sauce 2 pack and holy guacamole, what an epic flavor, I have never had hot sauce like this before. My brain was bouncing off the walls with the complexity of flavors and nuances, genius and brilliant and 10 stars is all I can say. Hope the other sauces are back in stock soon, I want to try them all :)
One of the meals my grandma called "poverty sandwiches" involved fried bologna on toast. This sounds like the "we're middle class now" version. I'll have to try making it.
ОтветитьRECIPE GUYS. PUT THE RECIPE IN THE POST. We can’t open videos in a grocery store and watch the video to find a recipe or wander around on the internet pages. PUT THE RECIPE on the POST
ОтветитьAnthony Bourdain was the Hunter S. Thompson of the Food World !!!!
Ответить🙏 We miss ya everyday, AB. Thanks for all the inspiration for so many years. This video is for you, pal. 🥪
