Damn $11k! I was pissed about the justice of the peace charging $300 for me and my late husband to officiate us in a parking lot on her way to "a real wedding." Total was $600. Our marriage certificate, rings, and family dinner at a buffet was the other $300. We decided we didn't want to start off our marriage in debt.

So the 20 bad debts were just for yhe wedding.

We paid a guy who is a priest and used to be a judge to come to our house and marry us. He worked for “tips”. We live streamed it for family. Cost us about $300 all in all. Zero point going into debt for what is essentially a party.

If your fiancee genuinely loves you and understands the situation they will be fine with no wedding. Just get the marriage certificate and fix your life.

I have 5 credit cards. I use only one on a weekly basis, which is my corporate card (it has 0% interest) since i don't carry cash. One card for international expenses (which ofc I rarely use). The other ones were given to me but I don't use. In reality, I have ZERO debt cause I'm not a fucking moron LOL

My wife and I are poor and shit. Been together for 15 years we got married like 4 years ago in our living room, with a few friends. That was it, we love eachother and just wanted the benefits of marriage we didnt need a big party about us. IF WE had money we would have had a huge wedding but we dont so did it at home.

I’ve worked in the mortgage industry for a year and closely with credit agencies for 3. I have never seen such a bad credit in my life. 20+ credit and NONE from a mortgage with 6 figures of bad debt!? My god! I hope they turned things around after the show

My husband and I went ahead and pushed our marriage papers bc it as cheaper. Now, we’re saving for our wedding (but our anniversary is coming up on its 1 year) ❤❤❤ it was strange but I like it this way. Even better we can plan it thru and if some things don’t go as planned we won’t sweat it

Also in California it’s about $100 for your marriage license but replacements are cheaper
